    Hi. It's been a while I haven't post anything. Well the reason is because it has also been a while I haven't done any 3D. So I decided to finish old meshes before starting new ones. This one needed textures and skining. I already posted pictures of the model in an old topic, but it has been locked

    (I've scaled down the shoulder pads since)

    So here is the update. The helmet is almost finished. The "ears" still need textures. It's taking a long time because I make diffuse map, specular map, bump map, and a mask for scratched paint. More update to come soon

    Funny.. Miss Fett. What made you decide to go with those colors and not something more obviously .. feminine?

    Just looking at it without the colors, I don't think he needs feminine colors to make it obvious. :p

    Wonderful work once again though.

    Female Mandalorians are just as much warriors as male Mandalorians. If they wore a femanine color on their armour then they would probably get teased by all of the rest of the Mandalorians for seeming weak.

    Well, I thought making her in pink or purple could have been funny, but it was supposed to be for a serious project.
    I said "was", because even if the project isn't completly dead (the proof is this update), I'm affraid it will never be finished. It's a 3-4 minutes long animation involving three mandalorians and two jedis. I started this character almost two years ago and still not done. Hopefully I'm not the one supposed to animate it. Well maybe I'll work on the other characters when this one is finished.

    Anyway, here is the update: the helmet is finished, and I finished the hair. The face isn't textured yet. I made two different hairs, one with helmet is off, and another one that fits inside the helmet.
    I didn't use hair plugin but opacity maps, because real hair kills render times, and are very difficult to set up, as you have to render them to have an idea of what the result really looks like.

    [image=http://olee.taulard.net/images/olee/cheveux.jpg]

    I finished unwrapping the backpack (I hate unwrapping), this will be next to be textured. I'm going to redo the belt: I don't like all these pockets. I know boba and jango have the sames, but I don't think it looks good on her, it breaks her smooth curvy shapes. I'm going to leave one or two, and model smaller props instead.

    Oh, and she isn't naked, she wears a super tight suit. I remember a saw a picutre of a character from starcraft ghost with this kind of suit when I was modelling her.
    Edit: I found it on blizzard website

    Yea. That's why I was wondering what you were thinking artistically on the color. I know you are a very artistic person and would never just think the body looks feminie enough, in contrast to what that other guys said, to not think about the color. Some people just like to debate everything I say I guess?

    I think the purple is good. Like her hair. Purple is a kool color. Maybe you can incorporate that into her body suit or somewhere else?

    Nice model, and very good looking hair! Have you made any tests to see how the hair behaves when animated?

    Update:
    [image=http://olee.taulard.net/images/olee/backpack.jpg]
    Moving to the gauntlets now... I'm going to texture all the armor parts and finish with the body

    Zoo>> I agree with you, a more girly color could have been cool, and maybe I will do a special version, for my portfolio, when finished. All I have to do is to play with the Hue/Saturate tool in photoshop to get a new color.

    Filip>> No, I haven't tried to animate anything yet. The hair will be under the helmet most of the time, I don't think I will animate them. But I may use reactor or someting like this when she takes her helmet off (she is supposed to, in the short film). I could use the cloth simulation, but I may get a lot of bug because all the plans intersect each other. I'm going to use CAT to rig the body, because it's far better than character studio. I'll use constrains for the armor part, and splines to animate the pipe on the arms.

    I think I can finish the textures in a couple of weeks. I've found a really good tool, Unfold3D, to unwrap UV that saves a lot of time and gets better results. I whish I had it for the helmet.

    Why not just make that bodysuit "dark" purple and that's all? The color would go with all the other colors, it would give it a tough female look, and it wouldn't draw away from your other color schemes I don't think.

    ^^I like the textures as they are. I wouldn't like pink...I mean sure, go for pink, if she was playing with barbie dolls and ponies, but she's a mandalorian...

    And it's not as if you can't tell she's not a woman anyway :p

    Update. It's very long and slow.
    [image=http://olee.taulard.net/images/olee/bobette01.jpg]
    Don't pay attention to the pink shoulder, it's just something I unwrapped in another application and imported back in Max and I forgot to re-apply a material.

    nice texture work Oli, but I think the scheme is way too Boba Fett. No originality, like they did with Jango's scheme.

    Great charachter OC!

    I think the colours are class but a nice scar on her cheek might look cool.

    The removal on some of the belt pouches works 2.

    I pm'd u by the way.

    I'm also working on a convertion to Max 8 of the new yoda mesh at scifi 3D.
    I've redone materials in max, pretty easy, and I've set a biped that I will apply soon.
    Maybe I'll create a couple of morphers
    I'll send it to Zoo when done.
    here is a render in Max, basic scanline, a screenshot of the biped
