I wish mate, I wish. I can read women great when it comes to seeing whether they're interested in other blokes, but the second I'm interested in someone, I lose all my abilities and have absolutely no idea what they're thinking.

    Keep em coming :D

Not sure really on the kilt, just always liked the idea of having one. However, I may wait until I've lost some more weight.

The first two questions you need to ask yourself is:

What kind of kilt? Casual/sport kilt, semi-formal, formal, alternative style (i.e. utilikilt, freedom kilt, etc).

The Second question is what do you want it to look like? tartan? Solid?

I prefer tartan kilts. From there you can go with a particular clan or a district tartan.

Black Watch is a nice tartan that is acceptable for everyone to wear.

    Black Watch tartan

After you answer those questions, that last one is, how much are you willing/able to spend?

She would only see the middle of your knee cap to the top of your socks.

The traditional drop on a kilt is mid knee. Any higher and it's a skirt. Any lower and it's a dress. ;)

I'm not Scottish, but my mothers family is Irish, and the Irish wore kilts (I think - Verity, wanna confirm that...sounds like something you'd know), so technically, I could get away with it, too! :p

Yes the Irish also wore kilts so go for it.

Hey I would never talk a guy OUT of wearing a kilt. ;)

Kilts are Scottish. HOWEVER, you do not need to be Scottish or of Scottish decent to wear a kilt.

The only time it gets hazy is when you start dealing with certain clan tartans. Also, if you're a member of the St Andrew's Society, there's a whole other set of rules.

I'm not and I don't care. I have 5 kilts now and I'm going to order my 6th after Dragon Con.

It's going to be semi-formal in the Buccleuch Clan tartan.

    [image=http://www.usakilts.com/tartans/buccleuch.jpg]

BTW, kilts are like tattoos, they are very addictive. :D

EDIT If you want the straight dope on kilts, history, etc, drop by the Scotland boards. ;)
