OK, Souderwan's going to work on a debate proposal for me, which is great. The guy is like a cult figure in YJCC so it might bring some people to the Senate with him. We're a lot less regulated in this place than we used to be, but we're saddled with the old perception.

I'm also going to do a draft list of the countries for the RP. I've looked into some non-RPG RP style games and really, freeform RP with less oversight than I had is probably for the best. Any suggestion will be welcome; we mods will play a kind of Controller roll, throwing randon naughtyness into the mix to keep it fresh.

Seriously though, is Nigeria your recommendation because

1) You have a Nigerian background, or
2) Nigeria's a crucial player on the world stage?

Both. Nigeria is definitely a regional power, for all it's corruption problems. They are, with respect, to the African Union the United States of Africa(obviously much less potent, however). Look at the peacekeeping missions the AU has taken on, and how many of the soldiers have been Nigerian. Obasanjo seems better at dealing with AU than Nigeria itself .

 

Well actually, I think you'll find the RSA is the US of Africa, techically speaking.

I'm just not sure how big a role Africa would play, and if we theme a scenario around petrodollars Venezuela will play a much greater roll since the controversially-elected Mr Yar'Adua will keep cordial if not strong relations with the west.

I'll consider it.
