I love T2, but if I had to pick between it and Clueless for the most 90s movie of the 90s, I think I'd have to go with Clueless. I'd put Independence Day as #3.

    Other potential contenders:
    Office Space
    Spice World

Yeah, I don’t think I’d ever seen a film that addressed parents splitting up. That was very 90’s.

a lot of good answers so far. i'd put forth true romance as another contender. i mean gary oldman played a rastafarian pimp. ask yourself what other decade that could have happened in.

Fargo, A Few Good Men, Jerry Maguire, Good Will Hunting, or The Silence of the Lambs are contenders for me.

Bio-Dome! I forgot about that movie. Quintessential 90s.

Friday is another good one in regards to black culture.

The Craft is often mentioned by a lot of women.

Executive Decision is quintessential bad 90's action.

Just so you all know, we're only having this discussion because there was no Dire Straits action movie in the nineties.

So clearly Empire Records wins because it plays "Romeo and Juliet" during the movie?

The Brady Bunch Movie absolutely oozed grunge to heighten the contrast with the comparatively square Bradys. It makes for an interesting rewatch now; it's like a double time capsule.

    The sequel is funnier, though.

Good choices. Empire Records is a very underrated movie. Really is a good illustration of what high school life was in the mid-nineties, more then Can't Hardy Wait or some of the other teen movies of that time period.

Also if we are talking films that defy the 90's, you definitely have to throw Scream up there since only in the nineties could you get away with a black comedy and a whodunit mixed into a horrible flick.

I just thought of "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" but that could be more 80s than 90s.

Both Eninco Man and Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" are part of that early nineties films that had lot of it's look and feel in the late eighties. Love both of them though.
