Other: the mystery of Wocky. Who is he? What is he? Why does he do what he does?

Unless Wocky is D. B. Cooper, in which case we can consolidate.

The Zodiac case as I understand it is not nearly as clear cut as the Fincher-fied version. (It's still nevertheless one of my absolute favorite movies.)

JonBenet's parents may very well have killed her, but I'm uncomfortable with using the word "know" in this particular case.

Was just being cheeky with OJ.

Even if Cooper died, it's still a mystery who he was.

In the spirit of your answer, I don't think it's properly appreciated how bizarre it is that the speed of light is constant. It defies not just common sense, but all sense.

I actually think MH370 is the best answer given so far, although a big Atlantic story a few months ago relayed that authorities are quite sure it was the co-pilot.

I was making a dumb reference to a years-old ICP quote.

But yeah, the "rules" of the universe don't make any intuitive sense and the speed of light in a vacuum being constant is just the tip of the iceberg with regards to that subject. We don't even know what the majority of the universe is made of. We just call it "dark matter" and "dark energy."

If you want explanations that make your brain turn to mush, I suggest the PBS Space Time YouTube channel.

@Lordban — On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and alternate Sundays, he was Edward V of England. The rest of the time he was Richard of Shrewsbury. Except on Leap Days, when he was Anastasia Romanov.

Also, now I’m imagining Even and ICP attaching magnets to his face.

Whoever it was, the anonymous infamy they got from it was probably worth it. They're inextricably connected with what is probably one of the 5 greatest moments in MLB history.

What are some other sports-related mysteries?

Did Tom Brady know the balls were deflated?

What was the extent of Tim Donaghy's sabotage? Relatedly, is his allegation that Lakers Kings Game 6 was fixed true?

    Who murdered Michael Jordan's father?

Did the Patriots film the Rams walkthrough?

Did Roger Clemens ask out of Game 6 in 1986 or was he yanked?

It beggars belief he could be allowed to serve as an elected Senator though.

I didn't watch that new documentary about it because it looked like garbage, but for me it's always been Elisa Lam. I think mainly because of that video footage from the elevator that just deeply disturbed me the first time I saw it and I've only watched it once since then, I think, because I just still find it so creepy and unsettling.

It's obviously just a coincidence, but the fact that one of the tests used to diagnose TB is called the LAM-ELISA test and there was an outbreak of TB close to the Hotel right after her death is just super-weird. I suspect coincidences like that are always happening, but we just usually aren't aware of them. But still, it just gives the whole thing a weird, almost Twilight Zone feel, like it's proof we're in a glitching simulation or something. Like Elisa Lam just happened be in close proximity to LAM-ELISA and so things started glitching or something. I am not saying that I believe that, but it just gives the whole case a very weird feeling.

So, that's a very personal pick. If I was going to go with a classic, I'd say Jack the Ripper. Dyatlov Pass is a good pick too.

We already know the answer to that one-- he was unwillingly removed. John McNamara made up a story that put him in a better light after what happened at the end of the game.

The Dyatlov Pass incident has an obvious explanation: the Russian Yeti!

(Warning: if you watch this, you will be significantly dumber afterwards.)

There is a suspect I believe, currently in a German prison. The German authorities have reported that they have some key information about this guy that leads them to believe that he is her killer, but so far no 'smoking gun' evidence with which to charge him. I don't think that her disappearance will ever be solved.

One thing that I don't believe for a second, in spite of any opinion about their decision to leave the children sleeping in the apartment whilst they dined nearby, was that the parents had any involvement. I have read some wild theories about them online over the years.

How much would could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? I mean, certainly a wood chuck would chuck any wood it could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood, but how much is that?
