JCC Movies you haven’t seen (discussion thread)

Never seen any of the Resident Evil films past the second film.

 

Dirty Dancing is a surprisingly solid movie. I went into expecting it to be pretty cheesy and it's actually really good. I mean, don't get me wrong, it has some cheese, but it works overall.

Saturday Night Fever, on the other hand, is just a ******* dark movie. It's bleak as ****. Nobody knows that because of the soundtrack.

The Holiday Special is physically painful.

 

The cartoon that introduced Boba Fett wasn't bad. That's the only part I've seen though.

 

His rifle became Mando’s rifle. Which says something.

 

The director was my directing prof and yeah SNF is not upbeat.

 

I've never seen Batman Begins. Reason because that was right around the time Katie Holmes (who was in Begins, Maggie Gyllenhal took over her part in The Dark Knight), was dating/later married Tom Cruise and Cruise was going absolutely bat**** insane with Scientology/feuding with Brooke Shields over her post-partum treatment (including the infamous interview with Matt Lauer). So that probably painted her unfairly with guilt by association and I refused to see anything with her (or Cruise) in it, including Batman Begins.

 

Batman Begins is really good despite Katie. I actually enjoyed rewatching it recently. Liam Nesson can elevate any film with his acting.

 

I'll stand by my hot take that Katie Holmes is actually good in Batman Begins and Liam Neeson is actually not very good.

 

Well so be it then.

 

I was going to see the Tom Cruise movie last night but got sidetracked. Now it will have to wait until late June.

 

You know, despite owning it on Blu-Ray I'm not actually sure I've seen Batman Begins all the way through.

 

Never seen Highlander 2.

 

I've never seen a Neil Breen film. I've been reading about how some of the acting in the Obi Wan show is comparable to a Neil Breen film, so I can only imagine they're classic performances.

 

There can be only one good Highlander movie.

 

I've never seen Red Dawn.

 

you should see that 'cos I'd like to know what you think of it.

 

I think Boba riding big monsters was also taken from that short.
