Musical talent

Does anyone from here have any?

I've been looking to form a band for ages - I'm a guitarist who's far too lazy to put up notices or anything in music shops, and I know a good female drummer...was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining us?

 

is the female drummer hot??? ?

 

She says no, but handily adds- "I can down 6 pints of Cider and beat you in a race!"

I'm one of those people who would play well if they bothered to work a bit - I have a good ear, but I never took lessons so, well, I can fool people who don't know anything about music into thinking I'm playing the piano and a bit of guitar, but that's all...
And I could sing well before I started smoking, a few years ago

So if you need someone who doesn't play well to give the other members of your band a confidence boost, don't hesitate to ask
No, really, I can virtually play (but not very well) anything on the piano if I've heard the thing enough times - can't read rhythmes on piano sheets...
(and I live near Swansea, by the way)

What kind of music are you playing?

 

It'd probably be rock-type music, primarily, though nothing too heavy. I'd definately take you up on the singer bit (smokey lungs or not!) if only I had a bassist

I used to play the violin. Granted it was around 17 years ago and I had to quit because it turned out I had no musical talent. But just three words should make you change your mind.

You should hear BlueSelenium (FanForce France, crazy,presently expatriated in Devon) ranting about how she would love to be able to play the bass and how it's the best instrument... *rolls her eyes*

Piano. Guitar. Sax. Now, those instruments sound good.
Oh, and harp and flute and strings sound really good too, but not for the same kind of music

 

Then of course you got the Homer Simpson school of thought.

I'm afriad I can't help, I'm only just starting out learning guitar myself (so far i can only play the chords: E G A D.)


Its a shame I havent learned sooner, playing guitar is my dads career basically. (He's not that bad a teacher either, for someone who's been playing for 41 years).


So yea, I see this as an excellent chance to learn guitar, but i might want to learn a bit of Bass also. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
