Ok, so I get banned a lot... as some of you have noticed! ;)

I think I've come up with a possible solution, though... I guess there may be reasons why it wouldn't work, which is why I thought I'd post here rather than the JCC, to get some comments.

What about a JC board, let's call it 'The Sith Temple', that has an appropriate age limit and an agreement - from an admin point of view similar to teh non-spoiler groups agreement. In this board, consenting adults are free to use vocabulary, subject matter etc. that would not be appropriate to the PG rated JCC as a whole.

A South Park to the Simpsons of the JCC -

Are there any reasons why this wouldn't/couldn't work?

Is it worth suggesting it in the JCC?

Does anyone think it's a bad idea?

Whilst I think that's a good idea the Happy Clappy saccharin sweet brigade would NEVER let that happen in a million years.

Because we all know if you say anything worse than 'oh flip' the whole world as we know it would crumble into a Heathen filled hell and that would not do... some of the more *cough* prissy posters would get their Ivory Towers dirty and rose tinted specticals broken and would cry alot!

    Well, i think it's a good idea.

It's a simlilar idea to my Younglings only forum. An idea which although good, is proving very hard to implement i.e: age verification. Obviously, to be allowed in the Younglings forum, you have to be under 16 years old.

Your idea could be done the same way, as in having the Adults forum hidden, so as not to offend sensitive types. And, a minimum age of say 18 allowed access, but, then we get back to age verification, which is very hard to do on here (actually, impossible lol).

But, like Nic says, chances are very slim indeed that it would ever be allowed.

Yeah, have to agree. I think it's a good idea, a place with ample warning about the possible content within. But It'll just get abused and you'll have people trying to go for full on cyber sex, which would obviously never be allowed. And the powers that be would probably also ask that if you want to participate in that sort of thing, well this is the internet and I'm sure there's lots of other places where you could do it.

I do think it's an idea worth putting forward. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.

There is a forum for this...

    Its called the Slacker Council.

You were made aware of the rules when you joined this place. You are reminded everytime you post. If you can't control yourself or don't like the rules then find another board like the Slacker Council.

How would you manage making an adult board as past of the PG board?
The non spoilers board you have to registar again. But how do you prevent some 13 year old from getting in?

I think it would work, but it would still have to be moderated to avoid peeps going that bit too far. After all, there is a happy medium!

If they don't say yes you can always set up your own board away from here! ;)

I think it's an idea to suggest but I doubt they will ever consider it because I've spent hours arguing with mods about the word jerk being the same as the word we would use here yet jerk is not a banned word.

Best suggestion would probably be for your own board like Nic suggests that way you can swear to your heart's content.

Why invent an over-age board just so you can swear on it?

All you have to do on the normal boards is block out your rude anogram with *

But by all means put forward the idea, it could work.

I'll go check teh slacker forum out, thanks, Mitt :)

Maybe I should visit this place.
Though I rarely leave the safety of FFUK.
But one cannot stay their whole life never visiting new places.

In theory, great idea. But then, in theory communism works.

I haven't been around all that long, I mean I'm still quite the newbie even with my May '02 reg date, but I think I can safely say a LOT would have to change before anything like that could possibly happen on these boards.

Sometimes, when I'm in a really bad mood, I wanna misbehave on the boards, but then I come to my senses. It's a great place, because we have standards, if there were no standards, then it really would be terrible I think. Sure, sometimes I think things might be a little rigid, but that's just how things are.

To get a board with a more relaxed TOS, you'd have to go somewhere else I believe. And personally I like things how they are now :) but I do hope that you can find what you want.
