Last year I sculpted a Mini-bust of Darth Vader for an online sculpting contest. Well, I've decided to go back and redo the whole thing, and make a full statue 1/5th scale.

I thought I'd share the in progress shots, because tomorrow night I should be posting the finished pics of the whole thing.

    So... Here's a couple links.

Dude, your vader sculpture is like.....
I am speechless, because there ARE no words in the dictionary to describe that piece of art. Dude, great job!! I love doing molding and everything, but I've never undertaken something that detailed besides people before....
    =D= =D= =D= =D= =D= =D=
Its really cool too that the guy who played vader will get to see the finished product.
Great job dude, rock on, and I can't wait to see the finished product!!!

    [Vader]Impressive...Most impressive[/Vader]
I visit the sideshow collectibles site alot, so you would expect that I have high standards, but that is absolutly brilliant. Your Vader is much better than any others I have ever seen. Unfortunatly I could not see the completed thing, some of the pictures would load at all. Is there any other way I could see them?

Wow! Really brilliant work! =D=

What kind of material do you use for it and how long did you need for it?

(btw sadly the pics at your first link doesn't work for me :( )

The completed pics are being taken tonight. I built the page in advance of me getting the piece done.

The piece is finished. Had a ding in the helmet's paintjob, and wanted to make it perfect. I'm taking the finished pictures tonight, and probably posting them sometime Sunday.

Thanks for the interest, and the compliments.

I use apoxie Sculpt for the sculpture. It's a two part material that hardens on its own in about 3 hours. Not a lot of sculpting time, but it works great.

I also just posted a link on my website to the new Darth Maul statue.

That is just amazing in the essence of the word.
I cannot wait to see Maul! :D
Would I be wrong to hope that Jango/Boba, clonies/stormies, and maybe a battle droid or two might be on their way? [face_mischief]

Yep, other stuff is forthcoming. I'm doing sculpts of all the bad guys. The Boba and Jango are done, just gotta get them painted.

Oh its BEAUTIFUL!!! Now I'm going to have to do a sculpture... you made it look like too much fun.
Actually I do wanna do like Aayla Secura, Barriss offee and Luminara. So if I ever DO get around to making them and putting them up, I'll have someone to blame it on. :)

Great job, absolutely stunning, and I can't wait to see more of your work!

    God Bless!
