I didn't see much on here for people who are building their own lightsaber hilts. I built this one a few years back. It's based on a design from http://bigyellowbox.tripod.com/. It's not much, but I'm very proud of it. The best part: seeing the looks on the hardware store salespersons face when I said what I needed the plumbing parts for.
The plumbing section is great. I got a lot of good pommels for wooden and boffer swords there. Occasionally you can find something useful in the electrical aisle too.
MrMojoRisin, if you're lucky, your master might ask you to make one when you get apprenticed. I asked my first apprentice to make one. Sent via Tapatalk this was.
Still working @DarthIshyZ ? I have my own custom one, but its in the cabinet behind the bird cages, ...........yeah, one day I'll get it out!
Mines done, just buried! Aircraft aluminum hand turned. Brother made it. But do you think I can find it?! I just tried to move the birds and they freaked right out, then I got from my daughter 'great mum, now he's going to pull his feathers out!' She's right.
