My new theory on Sly Moore

Alright, this involves Clone Wars EU, but so what?

Don't you think Sly Moore looks an awful lot like Asajj Ventress, Dooku's Dark Apprentice in the EU Clone Wars?

What if they ARE one and the same?

Besides the physical similarities (and you must admit, Sly looks evil and scary), the SW Databank claims rumors persist that Sly Moore has the ability to influence the minds of people around her. Sounds an awful lot like the Force to me.

Plus, she'd be the perfect bodyguard for Palpatine.

Of course, there's the obvious flaw that in the EU Clone Wars, Ventress is associated with Dooku, not Palpatine.

Hmm...maybe Palpatine allowed Dooku to "discover" Ventress, and is actually using her to keep an eye on Dooku.

I know it's not much of a theory, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Imagine if Obi-Wan bursts into Palpatine's office, full of anger and accusations, and prepares to arrest Palpatine, when all of a sudden, Sly Moore whips off her robe and ignites a lightsaber. Fun for the whole family.

 

There's definately something up with her. I, too, noticed in the visual dictionairy about her ability to control peoples minds or something.I thought that would be a great device in the thoughts that maybe Palpatine is Sidious' puppet. And Sly Moore is channeled by Sidious to control Palpatines motions.

It would be great if she was his apprentice. In the EU, they speak of Emperor's Hands and whatnot. She very well could be one of his agents.

Another odd thing I always think I hear is in the scene where Obi-Wan and Anakin are questioning Zam Wessel outside the bar. She answers Anakin saying "a bounty hunter called.." and then she is shot with the dart from Jango. Then, as she's dying, her face changes and she's slurring some words. I always hear what sounds like "... Sly Moore" just before she dies.

I wonder if George can use that and have it that Sly Moore contacted Jango and Zam. Even though Jango was recruited to be cloned by Dooku, Sly may have recruited him for this recent job.

And what an amazing looking character! She oozes darkness.

Sorry to disappoint you, Isurus, but I believe that Zam says something like "_____ sleemo" in Huttese, which means "lousy bounty hunter" (or whatever), referring to Jango Fett.

I think that was cleared up in one of the "Ask the Jedi Council" series.

 

She's a cool looking character, very creepy, but she'll probably only get more background time in III.

 

yeah, in a way, I guess that's part of the genius of Lucas: you get this background character who isn't very important but seems really cool, and then you want to find out MORE...just like Boba Fett.

 

I would actually love to see Sly Moore have at least some form of a part other than her "I just stand here" and "I'll walk across the room" parts in AOTC. Having her be a line of defense that Palpatine/Sidious has established would be pretty cool. She definitely has the look of being a pretty freaky bad guy. I don't know about necessarily having her have/use a lightsaber, but something would be cool. Perhaps even have her use of the crimson guard's forcepikes. Have whomever is storming Palpatine's office fight with a couple of the crimson guards, take them out, and get inside the office only to have to take on Sly Moore who's respectively more skilled with a forecepike than the guards were.

But, I think the greater chances are that she'll just be standing there some more, if she's in it at all.

 

A very interesting theory GARTH_MAUL. I quite like it since they do look very similar. We will have to wait and see what happens.
