St. Lou, MO My TIE Pilot

As some of you may know, I'm working on building a costume, a TIE Pilot. Well, I thought people may also be interested in the my progress. I made a web page that shows this progress and is even a "how-to" of sorts for building your very own TIE Pilot.

I'm so jealous of SL's helmet work. It is incredible!

 

that helmet really is amazing

you should be very proud of it

 

And from a Rubies Helmet no less. Those are notorious for being poor replicas. But this just goes to show that with enough work you can make anything look great.

And its still not quite done yet. I've got a couple of spots on the paint job to touch up and add my speaker/mic system to it.

The big project after the bucket is the chestbox/armor

I love the boot holster! That is so awesome. I'm guessing you purchased the boots somewhere? If not I'd love to know how you made them. Your costume is really coming along!

 

No, didn't make the boots. (The holster took me long enough to figure out what I've got) They are authentic German military knoebelbechers (sp?). Got them from a guy in Germany that I "met" through one of the TIE costuming boards I frequent. On the upside, they only cost me $30 (including shipping).

 

Latest update. Got my chestbox from my very talented friend in Chicago. It got fans blowing up the air tubes, blinking LED lights in the rockers & my voice amp. The link is above for pics.

All that's left is my greeblies, belt buckle & armor. Gloves are on order & going with a flak vest until I find armor.

After 1 yr & 1/2 of work (and hunting), my costume is finished. Well, version 1.0 anyway. Here are the pics. Can't really see the armor, but its there...lol

That is incredible!! If you come to the RotS premiere event, you have to wear it!

 

I'll have to see about coming down for the premier. My plan at the moment is to catch the midnight show here in Quincy with my buds, wearing the costume And I WILL have it at C3, probly wear it saturday.

 

That's cool, I will get a good look at it at C3. Be sure to not have it laying about though, I may be tempted to snatch it

If you wanted to come for the Saturday thing that'd be cool. That's when we need people the most.
