If they don't title his episode "Q-Anon," they'll have missed out on an opportunity to be both topical and completely tone deaf, representing the best the science fiction genre has historically offered.

 

Agree. John De Lancie makes everything better. Also, it occurs to me that there seems to be a pattern here. Season 1 was Data. Season 2 is going to be Q. Perhaps Season 3 is going to be the Klingons?

 

Wonder how they'll square Q's immortality with him looking older.

De Lancie had a fun take on that in a fan Q&A a few years back.

Not sure how I feel about "Q" returning for Picard S2. I was never a huge fan of the character, although John de Lancie's performance as him can't be faulted. I always skip the "Q" episodes if I am having a TNG / DS9 rewatch. I'll still watch it though, for Patrick Stewart.

Update on Prodigy

 

Hey, at least there's Lower Decks. The first season wasn't a dumpster fire like Picard.

 

I just wanted to see some Strange New World anything today, but I think that's the one thing we're going to go without.

Yes LDS Season 3, animation has a long lead time so good to know it's still rolling.

As for Picard some comments by TBTB have vaguely implied this would be the last season if they can't keep Stewart around for more. So having him go with Q would be a good way to go out. I'm hoping Q basically rips on him mercilessly about being a robot now.

 

Last announcement of the day: a nerd convention next year. Plan accordingly. If they don't announce a limited series about Star Trek's best boy Bones, titled "The Real McCoy," set during his brief years of blissful retirement between TOS and TMP, then I'm not sure what this franchise is doing.

 

I'd love for them to make that Khan Cetti Alpha Five miniseries that Nick Meyer apparently wrote and is sitting in a drawer somewhere. He says it's not long enough for CBS to make at like only 3 or 4 episodes.

 

I’d potentially be down for that. It’s occurred to me that Star Trek could potentially benefit from a Dave Filoni figure. There has never been any inclination or desire on the part of the caretakers of Star Trek to mine Star Trek’s expanded universe characters, settings or ideas.

 

Considering they quoted it, I'm hopeful they do not...

 

Technically Alex Kurtzman is the one overseeing all of the current Star Treks which is always a little weird as he and Roberto Orci wrote the JJ Abrams directed movies and Orci was the Trekkie out of the two of them (he also added story ideas for the IDW comic series for awhile too).
