Milestones? We're talking of a kid here, not a project, right?
Developmental milestones. Skills kids should have at this age. For example, my kiddo still sometimes needs help sleeping through the night. Most kids her age know how to manage this and know how to cope with middle of the night wake ups. We are working on it.
The skill you need to develop is politely telling people to stfu, while you learn and develop your own parenting style.
exactly. it's not their kid. you're the parent. i don't see how else you deal with them besides just being up front about it, telling them that whilst you appreciate they have the kids best interest at heart and are only trying to help, that you have things under control and frankly their advice is not required and isn't helping. if they continue to not respect your wishes then escalate further (perhaps the dad needs to step in, given it's his parents we're talking about here, or perhaps they have a break from seeing the kid until they learn to respect where you're coming from).
Yeah, what does Mike have to say about it? Are they lecturing him, as well, or just you?
Double post, but also.... the origins of "brat," so you can inform them of what they are calling your daughter (and you):
"Brat as a slang term dates from the 1500s in England, and meant “beggar's child.” Beggars often made sure their children were prominently displayed to garner more sympathy and money, which might have been particularly annoying to passersby."
Hey besties, it turns out I don’t have COVID
That's awesome news! Stay safe
I’m celebrating by heading back to work!
Qué tengas un buen dia
Good morning. Well it's morning anyway.
Unless you're in Europe or Asia...
But seriously, good morning
Happy not-having-Covid day !
Yay? Definitely to not having covid, but there should be a better celebration.
Congrats on Your Negative Test! greeting cards may be staging a revival they haven't seen since the 1980s.
uh oh. I sometimes still need help sleeping through the night.
i needed help with that last night!
Ah yes, the Florida way.
Essential worker, babieh!!!!
My partner's an essential worker. Yes, vet assistants are essential.
She's home now though, because her colleague got covid.
All essential workers deserve our undying gratitude.
I seriously need help with this. I am too nice.
Doesn't get feedback. At all.
He needs to take care of it, frankly.
and milestones? Kids aren’t drones, they go at their own speed.
So, he doesn't get any feedback on his part in the parenting...?
Are you also being challenged on your quality of barefoot kitchen skills?
Sincerely, tell them to st*u and/or spill hot liquid into their faces.
Bash those people in the face with an actual milestone.
