Thanks everyone, I was super happy to hear it. Evidently the radiologist could barely believe it. The tumor had been shrinking but to be totally gone is rare. Best thing to be thankful for today.

I had a slight concern I would waste the extended weekend, but I finished binging the new Saved By The Bell earlier. Anything else I do is a bonus.

 

Got my Christmas tree and nativity up. Now it feels like the holiday season.

 

I have had a productive weekend. I beat Doom 2016.

 

Work for me this weekend, so mostly dullness, however my brother had a more interesting time at his job:

That's a word so good I'm going to steal it and then confuse people into thinking I know any amount of Dutch with it.

 

The o is pronounced like 'quarrel' in British English and it has a uvular r. Good luck!

 

Didya catch any of Sunday Morning? My fave segments today were the ones about the Peace Studies teacher/advocate and the one on the photographic portraits of the homeless during the pandemic.

 

An alcoholic or non? A non-alcoholic drink before dinner is an apertif in English, even though it's not English.

 

I could’ve sworn aperitif implied alcohol. Like, here’s some bizarre champagne cocktail, it’s an aperitif, that sort of thing.

 

Aperitifs are alcoholic as well. But borrels are more substantial. 5-6pm is borrel time. A gathering of people, drinking around that time: borrelers who are borreling.

 

I have only had a non alcoholic apertif meant to stimulate the appetite. It's called Beverly and is bitter and gross. It's Italian, so maybe @3sm1r knows of it.
