Clearly the dogs in those areas of the country are used to it, because when it’s merely the Santa Ana winds out here, the Tunes family chihuahua simply refuses to poop outside.

 

Funny, that's what my next door neighbor said. Not in those exact words. The emphasis was a bit different.

 

So, I know all the songs by One Direction.
Back in 2014 my oldest daughter was a fan. They've since broken up, but that doesn't stop my youngest daughter from now being a fan. There's still a fawning teen cult around them. I guess it's because a new hip boy band hasn't come around yet.

Anyway one of the guys in One Direction was in the movie Dunkirk so now we're watching Dunkirk.

 

I must confess I was surprised to find myself enjoying several of Harry Stiles latest tunes.

 

Not just anyone can level up to Justin Timberlake status.

He was quite good in Dunkirk.

 

Besties, the Alamo Drafthouse in Kansas City is permanently closing due to the pandemic. I am beside myself with grief

 

Ugh, I also read that the Alamo Ritz is closing downtown here in Austin and I am truly crushed beyond measure, and am sick of grieving for my family, culture, and country. Not to broaden the point.

 

At least we still have B&B in KC. It's a small family owned local chain with recliners and such

 

Yeah, we fortunately have several other Drafthouses here, but that was a true gem. A 90 year old movie palace and now it's going to be some dumb bar for straight people.

 

I hope one of our local chains (AMC or B and B) buys the theatre that was Alamo here..it actually was renovated in 2008 by AMC and was their flagship theatre in the US for a while. I could see them buying it back. I hope. It's 100 years old.

 

Got my federal refund today, besties, which will for a bit of time take out the sting of the string of half-shifts we've been getting at Target.

 

I just realized the whole Alamo Drafthouse company filed for bankruptcy and I am broken

 

yeah that sucks.

 

They were about to come to Central Florida too. I was looking forward to actually being able to watch a ****ing movie without jackasses ruining the experience. Oh well!

 

Yeah, Chapter 11 so... There's a chance they could reorganize and survive. But it's still really rough.

 

I was wondering not if, but when that was going to happen. Major bummer. Just a few years back they opened a location in walking distance from my apartment. Hopefully they'll be able to hang on though I have a feeling they won't.

 

Their best bet may be getting auctioned off. But knows how that will end up.

 

Looks like they were bought by a private equity firm.
