Seeing TFA twice in theaters after years of not going at all cemented my opinion that I want nothing to do with them. Somebody’s going to make a sequels joke but that’s my favorite of that bunch by a lot so no.

turn off your cell phone/don't text during movies PSAs before/during/after the trailers have been very common in the U.S., so it must be a problem here too.

Hubby and I went to a viewing of Breakfast at Tiffany's for Valentine's Day just because our kids are older now and we could. Yup, even the older women next to me had to check her phone mid movie. It's distracting.

As for tickets @Pensivia I use vivid seats for resales both NBA and concerts. Never had an issue. Life is short, go to the concert .

Vivid and SeatGeek are normally good for concerts. However the Cure have blocked these tickets from being resold. They don't want people getting gouged.

Ah, I get that. Hanson does that for Hanson Day. Go to Louisiana then, it's close to Florida. I'm a very big believer in no regrets.

I personally have had so much fun at recent concerts. Going to see Yoongi of BTS in Chicago in May then Ben Folds here in KC in August.

Unfortunately, I don't think a trip to LA just for a concert will be in the cards for me. Oh well, Robert doesn't show any signs of wanting to retire from live performances anytime too soon, so maybe there will be another opportunity in the future.

can't they do anything to stop the gougers from buying up so many tickets? Couldn't they sell more tickets by selling them not online but in person, as in: you have to go somewhere and buy them yourself.

The Cure have trialed exactly this by making the tickets non-transferable. Only the person who bought them can use them. ID required I think.

While The Cure somehow managed to avoid it, the biggest price gouger by far is Ticketmaster/Live Nation itself.

Cities are among the greatest of evils visited upon mankind. I've said so for years. That's why I don't live in one. o_O[face_peace]

Oh absolutely. They're the problem. I'm just saying The Cure showed it CAN be done a different way. They also made tickets max out at like $60. So it can be done, they've proven it.

For purchases in person that’s not practical. And if they are in person purchases available, you just pay a homeless to buy that max allotment.

It’s just another way to screw people, of which there are fathoms.

My understanding is that artists with less clout can't stand up to the monopoly.

They were bad 20+ years ago. I still remember the credit card "convenience fee."

No they can't. I don't mean the artists can do this. I mean simply that concerts can in general be priced and ticketed this way.

Gotta break up Ticketmaster first though.
