As I have now boarded for my return trip, I have concluded that I was correct to not miss Arizona at all, ever, in my entire life. Really wish I could go see my brother and nephew anywhere else. :p

Arizona is horrid. Anyone who has never been there ought to be able to assess its quality by the swill they proudly put their name on and peddle as "tea".

I have never been to the Grand Canyon, and I never will, because to me absolutely nothing is worth going to Arizona and then having to drive for hours through some of the most desolate bull**** on Earth. I was there to see my nephew and my relatives who were also there to see my nephew, and then get the **** out. :p

It’s full of neighborhoods deluding themselves into trying to mimic California, populated by some of the meanest people in the US, and outside of Flagstaff it’s also horribly hot and unpleasant for most of the year. I lived in Tucson for about seven years (most of high school and all of undergraduate) and the relief I felt when my parents moved back to Texas while I was in grad school* was palpable.

*In the interests of fairness, I also have very little desire to return to Colorado, but that’s because of lingering personal animosity related to grad school and not necessarily a reflection on the state itself. Arizona has no such excuse.

I've been to the Grand Canyon but have never visited any of Arizona's major cities. What I've seen of Phoenix reminds me of my home of suburban Southern California, only more desolate. If the people are meaner than in Orange County, that's even worse. :p

You don't have to go to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. I went to Las Vegas, last year and they have helicopter tours that fly over the Grand Canyon. You can see everything, and I mean everything from the helicopter. You do get a chance to explore on foot, but it is less than an hour, before getting back on the copter and finishing the tour. (I took some rocks from the canyon home with me).

Best thing about it is, there is a car that picks you up from your hotel and it drives ya back. It is an awesome experience.

I went to all four corners states as a kid and saw the Grand Canyon. Truly awesome. But yeah I never went into the cities.

I only spent one day in Tucson, summer 2007 IIRC. We had to deliver an old C-130 to the boneyard for retirement. It was a 1963 model that I had worked on when I was still in maintenance. Leaving it there was sad for me. Overall, it was a depressing trip.

Besties I'm at Tokyo DisneySea park and the new huge land that opens June 6 has a surprise soft opening today. Imagineers and cast welcomed us as their first guests. My Parks nerd heart is full.

First it gets removed from my lazy Adblock by getting its tags changed, now this. Every day we stray farther and farther from Thunderdome’s light.

This could also be a potential first world problem

Accidentally closed car door into phone as it fell out of my pocket on Thursday.

Screen lights up and can be read but will not accept fingerprint or even gesture controls to unlock :(

Anyone know of a way to remote access/unlock an Android phone (Oppo) so that I can transfer the data once my new phone arrives?

Kinda need to sort it as soon as possible as I should get results of job interview next week.

Besties, my oldest daughter lives in Seoul and she's made a silent vlog about it.
It's her birthday next week, so please click.

She’s very talented! Her video made me want to be there seeing the same sights and petting her dog and cat.

That's the Hollywood version. They sensationalize everything. Not enough to get delicious plantains on Samoa, you have to be eating the plantains inside your enormous mech while battling a kaiju.

I would contend that is objectively the best way to eat a plantain.
