I stuck a needle in myself for the first time today, besties. I've recently switched from gel testosterone to injectible, since I've been on gel for almost a year and haven't seen a lot of effects. (The doc says not to get my hopes up about the injections, but that it won't hurt to try.)

I wasn't sure I would actually be able to get up the nerve to poke myself, but I did. Go me! Now let's see if I can get strangers to stop calling me "ma'am."

 

If I could, I would 100% pass on my polycystic ovary syndrome to you... it leaves me with a ridiculously high level of testosterone and really low level of estrogen. alas I can't. Does the thought count?

In seriousness... congrats on the new treatment... I hope it works better than the gel.

Glad you made it through the injection Ben. I had to inject myself for my first hep c treatment and it definitely got a lot easier.

 

I'm being brought back to the first time I mainlined heroin.

 

Yeah my son's been there since July, and I haven't been able to get out to see him. Soon... I hope...

I'm amazed people can inject themselves , what if you get an air bubble ? what if you hit an artery ? (limited knowledge of biology)

Most injections you give yourself for medical reasons go into your fat or muscle, not a vein. Mine went into my belly. Gross but not hard.
