Didn't see this posted anywhere, so I thought I'd make a thread for it. Five new character posters have been released! Harrison Ford: Spoiler Han Solo Daisy Ridley: Spoiler Rey John Boyega: Spoiler Finn Carrie Fisher: Spoiler Leia Adam Driver: Spoiler Kylo Ren I think they look nice. Simple, but appealing.
Wow, Carrie is looking great. As I'm the first comment, I'll spoiler tags too, but can we assume moving forward that anyone who doesn't want to see/discuss these will stay out of this thread? Spoiler Interesting that she's the only one not holding a weapon.
I noticed that too. Maybe she's the leader of the Alliance(/Republic/whatever they call themselves now) and therefore is out of the direct action? It sort of looks like a Star map or something like that in front of her. Or maybe they don't want to show... Jedi Leia with a lightsaber (I doubt it, but it would be awesome!)?
We keep seeing that staff of Rey's...I wonder if there's any significance to it... Anyone else think Rey in general looks a lot like Padme?? Just sayin'. Or...askin', really. TigerCraneFist...Oh man, if we saw Leia suddenly ignite and use a lightsaber, I would pee my pants like a three year old at Wal-Mart at the excitement of seeing that!!
Yeah, I've noticed that too. I have, well not a theory exactly, but an observation (that's probably still far-fetched): Spoiler It's probably nothing though.
Yeah, I was thinking about something along those lines too. Well, we will find out in about six weeks or so!!
Thanks TigerCraneFist Yes, that should be safe to proceed without spoiler tags for simple discussion of these.
The lack of a Poe poster has me a bit worried. I noticed he wasn't in the Struzan poster, didn't have a voice-over in the trailer, and now doesn't have a character poster. I hope that's not an indicator that they've cut a lot of his screen time or something. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid.
Yeah, the lack of Poe in recent promotional material is curious, since he was featured quite prominently at first. As soon as they introduced Han into the mix, Poe became less featured. It could be either a)that his role was never that big, but they felt they needed to focus on three heroes and one villain (and weren't ready to introduce one of the older characters yet), or b)that his role is big, but they feel focusing on two new leads, one villain and two old characters (Han and Chewie - now three, really, since Leia has been introduced into the marketing) is quite enough.
Where Poe is is a good question, but by now it's pretty obvious that they're hiding Luke until the actual movie.
