New Disney/Lucasfilm Animated Movie: Strange Magic

I think I might have see it in the listings recently but the name didn't catch my eye. This morning it did when I was going through the week's programs.

 

Watched it today. I thought it was pretty good. Loved the animation!

 

It's baffling how this didn't get a Blu-ray release...

 

Well, it’s hard to say considering that nobody watched it (even without adjusting for inflation, HOWARD THE DUCK actually outgrossed this threefold).

 

The movie was barely distributed. People can't watch it if it's not being shown.

 

Yeah - I don't think it even got to UK cinemas. If it did it wasn't in my local 10-screen Vue. Seeing it on Sky Movies was my first shot at it.

 

I really loved it! The animation was beautiful, and I was actually surprised by the ending. I know I probably should I have seen it coming, but I didn't. I really enjoyed it.

 

I didn't get to see it unfortunately, never arrived in cinemas here

 

I wanted to see it, but I never got around to seeing it. I read the reviews (which said it was awful) so I decided against seeing it, even online or on TV. However, that has not stopped me from looking at fanart of the movie. I have to say, the shippers over on DeviantArt are wicked talented.

 

I was surprised this got eviscerated by the critics. It was slick enough in all the right places and certainly had charm. It was by no means a film made for me so I can't really say if it was a success. I will say if I had kids, I would want this bluray on the shelf if they liked it.

Looking at the reviews though, the film never had a chance. I mean just look at this one,

Basically, "if your kids are dumb they'll like it!" I'm amazed parents weren't rushing to the box office...

It wasn't the most advertised movie.

 

Now I wish I had gone and seen it.

 

I could rent it, but my parents insist I am far too old for cartoons.

 

No one is ever told for cartoons.

 

I second that I love Cartoons, two of my favorites are The Lion King and Disney's Aladdin, and I love Pixar, I am a Pixar Fanboy! I am 35 years old. I loved Strange Magic, it was as if Labyrinth and Epic had a baby! my 8 year old nephew watches it often! he swill be 9 next month!

The film premiered on Disney Channel recently, I was wondering if it would.

 

It's been knocking around one of the Sky Movie channels (UK) for awhile now.

 

It's actually a pretty good movie. My daughters like it and the music is good

 

Lucas actually did state that he made this in mind with his daughters(Star Wars for girls is what he said). But honestly, it's a damn well done and detailed movie where even guys like myself love. Plus it has some pretty classical musical sections..

 

First time watched it and loved it. Its very well crafted movie with good visual, character design, very good music choice, nicely done plot, and absolutely lovable characters. And ofc i felt Lucas in countless little details he loves to add into his movies. 9/10 easily.
