TV Discussion NEW tv show Dr. Aphra Live action or Animated?

The been so many rumors of a DR. Aphra tv show that i think it's most likley our next tv show, most of the rumors have suggested of it being live action, but this tweet seems to suggest it could also end up being an animated one. We know from Jason ward tha two animated projects is in the works and will probaly release sometime in 2020.

 

I always hope for live action, but something tells me it’s animated.

 

I'm good with either. I think Aphra is a great character to explore more in other mediums. I mean she's basically Indiana Jones in space. What's not to love?

 

I think this show might fare better as an animation series, as we might see a young jedi Luke with her exploring ancient jedi relics. So it might work better in animation then live action. I think we could see book and comics characters in this show.

 

If it's live action, any ideas of who would play Chelli Lona? I can't think of a single actress right now that fits the mold, but my interest is piqued.

 

They could get the girl from agents of shield. Or an asian actress that resembles Aphra. I be more exited who they cast for the black wookie. And the murderous droids.

 

My pick would be the only person who made that dreadful Iron Fist show semi-watchable - Jessica Henwick.

 

Does she resambe Aphra tough i like to see that they are the same when comes to the screen.

 

She'd be perfect even if she's already been in Star Wars. That was such a minor role anyway that it probably wouldn't hurt her chances of being cast either.

 

It would be kinda weird tough, if it happens i hope both characters are related so it dosen't become too convoluted.

 

She does to me. I mean, as much as a human being can look like a character that's been drawn by a dozen different people.

Yeah, I don't think they'd have much of an issue there given she has...what? Four, five shots in the movie? Am I wrong in remembering she was up for Qi'ra? I swear I remember her on a list of actresses they were looking at.

 

Now this would absolutely be a show of which I'd resubscribe to Disney+ for after TCW is done with. I just love the character. If they can get someone to mimic the genuine raw emotions and characteristics of Aphra as she's portrayed in the comics, that'd be ideal.

 

I hope we get some luke cameos In here, liked their relationship.

 

My guess is that it will be animated as soon Resistance will be over with just surprised they didn’t decide to continue on with Sabine and Ahsoka

 

The sabine and Ashoka might be other show they are making,.maybe that takes longer or Filoni still writing the story.

 

Yeah, I definitely remember her being up for a significant role. I don't remember if it was for Qi'ra or if she was originally up for Rey though.

 

I still say Olivia Munn as Dr. Aphra, if Live Action.

 

what about marvel chick from agents of shield, the young one. I also wonder how she would work as an protagonist. in her comics she's pretty awful she is almost as bad as Vader. I wonder far she's grown since the end of the empire.

 

Could it be done 2D animated?
Take some tips from Spiderverse and ramp up the style. I'm not sure it'd be so great in Rebels or Resistance style 3D animation.

It needs a whole lot of coolness.

 

I would like live-action, but I think it will end up being animated.

 

nah i think the animated projects will always have that 3d style animation.

 

I just think Clone Wars, Rebels, Resistance all have a certain earnestness to them. That "Together, we can Win!" feel.

If they do this show, it's got to be cooler and snarkier. It's needs a new style.

 

I don't want another TV series set in the days of the Empire or set close to its end.
