At the last meeting we talked about picking some new venues for meetings. I am very PRO this considering I'm meh about Village Inn. Let's let those creative juices fly AND respond to suggestions you like. This isn't just for the January meeting suggestions so please post locales that would be good later on.
That place in Golden that is right next to the creek. Easy parking, easy "hiking," bring some river sandals. Seating would be on the ground :-(
Georgetown Railroad. The station is gorgeous with lots of free seating and views of the creek and free parking and some snacks and drinks. Train ride optional. We could carpool up there.
Union Station. They have remodeled it very nicely! lots off coffeeshops. And splash pad in the summer.
The Honey Baked Ham by our house has a deli sandwiches menu with desserts and chips and sodas and such. They have LOTS of seating and we can drag the seating around. Most people grab their sandwiches and go so it's usually quiet. We could rule the dining room!
I'm on board with trying something different. Especially since we've lost our usual waitress at VI and they like to mix the loudest drinks next to us right when we start the meeting... I like @FanForced's suggestions of IKEA and Honeybaked Ham. IKEA has a large space, food, and we can take fun/funky photos in their space, if we wanted. Yeah, it's far south, but we do need to mix it up. Honeybaked Ham has a lunch/eating area that can seat about 15-20 people. Provided we let them know we're coming to take over and do it in an off time, like we do, it would work great. They also have a patio where we could meet in the spring/summer time.
