second, as someone who lives in the 'port I thought I'd say the comments about newport being a hole are totally wrong... It is a whole lot worse than that!! You can't see anything apart from fake burberry and elizabeth duke gold jewellery!!

But since his IP address has 8 other socks registered to it, i'm thinking that he has either been banned or moved on to another forum to peddle his/her lies and deceit.

Regardless of whether it was the real Derek Lyons or not, I would still happily go up to him, shake his hand and have a chat.

Things like this are pretty meaningless in the larger scheme of life and I would never hold a grudge against him. If it was him of course.... Wich it wasn't...

So the question is, would I hold a grudge against a sock?

 

I would if it smelled
I mean even socks need a wash from time to time.

 

I think i'd send this sock to the alternate universe along with all the other missing socks.

The trouble with not holding a grudge with a sock is that you also have to not hold a grudge with his other 7 split personalities, which makes it pretty hard to keep a track of.

 

Yeah, I reckon you need to invent the "Grudge Against Multiple Socks" (GAMS for short) hardware device thingymajig and then hunt them down like the dogs they are.

Just to update you on this.

After further research, gabe confirmed for me that this particular poster WAS NOT A SOCK of another user. The password and e-mail address were both unique.

Further investigation on my part indicates that the user's private e-mail address, combined with the location his ip address was registered, would seem to point this out to be the real Derek Lyons.

He has informed me via PM that he will not post here again.

Now, I've PM'd you regarding this WG, and you said that you apologised and he kept coming, but working my way through the thread, I see him taking it nicely twice.

At which point, this mess should have been over and done with. However you chose to continue to harass him, taking quotes from another site and demanding to know why they don't seem to match up with what he is saying right now. No wonder he doesn't want to stick around when members of our groups that are held in higher standing give that kind of response.

Really? I was almost certain it was a sock as well.

Wow. I feel horrible.

Even moreso now that I looked him up and the dude was IN Star Wars.

 

The differences were enough to point that it wasn't a sock, and the private e-mail address combined with his host IP address seemed to indicate he was the real deal. I could still be being played by someone who has very cleverly pretended to be him, however at this time I am definitely leaning to real deal.

 

I didn't get to the Con in newport. I didn't even get to know about it until after it happened. There was no advertising in Newport that I saw... and I only just joined these boards...

i do believe there will be regular events held in both cardiff and newport...the next i think is in august

 

So that would be in Cardiff then I take it?

Is there enough demand to do this many cons per year in such a samll area as South Wales?

Not that i'm complaining or anything, I think it will be a great reason to get some up of Welsh posters together.

So what are the plans for the future gigs? Kind of the same format as the one in Newport? You planning on using the same costume, or are you going to go for something different?
