No More Stars

Well, let's be honest. You have a nice luxury that most people don't have. Why would you be in favor of doling it out to the common folk? I don't think I would be. No offense was meant.

Yes you admins should have special stuff, but it can be something more spiffy then just the colors. Howlrunner22 looks great with his pic name. You guys could do tons of unique fun stuff to your names and let all of us regular members have just colors and fonts.

It would still make it hard to see admins who are online. If you skim down the online users list, it's easy to see the admins. You'd have to look a lot harder if everyone had colours, even if admins had special fonts etc.

And I better check if my name shows up properly on that list..

The reason I feel mods should be the only ones to have colours is simply for members to recognise who is (and who isn't) a moderator.

 

Instead of stars we should have smilies at the end of our names

 

It would help more if the word 'moderator' is by your names. Surely you are tired of all the newbies who make those 'What's with the colored names?' threads just because they didn't bother to read the FAQ and find out what colors mean.

I like Howlrunner22's pic and I'd still recognize it even if everyone had colors.

 

Hmm... The Invisible Admin as a point... our suggestions only help seeing who is an admin in the actual thread itself.

But I think what the people still really want is a way to make these forums more fun for the users, and colors could definitely do this. Why is it being brought up now? Because there is no better time to make some changes when some big changes are already being mad...

Still, I think we can think of *something* that can be done. Get to thinking people...

I'm not particularly tired of it.

The only reason I think colours should be restricted to mods, admins and VIPs is because it's the easiest way to stand out. I really don't care about having them to show off or anything, if they went to normal users I wouldn't care because my "special" colours were no longer just for a few people, I'd care because it may be harder for members to find an admin.

And I might change mine to stand out more now...

I agree, until we get another way of distinguishing admins easliy, they should be the only ones with different colors. Although I disagree with your use of the invisible name.

 

Oh, one more addition. In the same way that moving your mouse over the stars before would yield that person's post count, in my hypothetical idea, moving the mouse over a moderator, VIP, or city rep would yield what they are, "Moderator", "VIP", or "FanForce City Representitive".

 

Just put the word 'administrator' or 'moderator' or VIP by your names and everyone would always know who you are!

I disagree Max. I think the admins need something permenantly visible for them to stand out.

I *do* howerver think we can think of a way to easily distinguish them and *still* give us colors.

Well if we could somehow go back to something similiar to the Junior member, member, admin titles that would work great

 

We'll give you all pretty colours when the graphics change.

Of course, they'll all be the same pretty colours...

And the Junior Member thing was taken away for much the same reason the stars were.
