Not sure if there is thread already like this. Quite simply, it is to discuss what species from non-SW sources would be good Jedi/Sith should there be a crossover.

    Na'vi - Avatar (2009)
Native to Pandora, these near 9-foot tall feline humanoids have a very close, symbiotic nature with their fellow Pandoran organisms. They also have a reverence for life. I nominate them for a Jedi tutelage, with emphasis on Living Force concepts. Only drawbacks I can find are building of a porportionate lightsaber, respiration apparatuses (Oxygen is toxic).

    Vulcans - Star Trek (1966)
Pointy-earred humanoids from Vulcan. Naturally telepathic, much like Kel Dor, Vulcans would no doubt be masters of mental powers. Most study the philosophical writings of Surak, which emphasizes control over one's emotions. Vulcans add with them the Mind-Meld, a telepathic process in which an exchange of memories takes place. The drawback of the Vulcan is Ponfarr, the mating urge that can lead to flares of passionate emotion every seven standard years. Due to their quite Jedi-like philosophy, I vote them as possible inductees to the Jedi Order.

urRu / Skeksis - The Dark Crystal (1982)
Originally a single species known as the urSkeks, they were split when the urSkeks wished to purge themselves of their darker instincts. Thus, the two races were born.

First are the urRu mystics. Lumbering, lizardlike beings who are wise but they tend to overly contemplate the consequences on the future if one acts in a certain. However, they seem to be very much in touch with the magics of Thra. Not quite Jedi material, but on their way

Second are the Skeksis. A deformed mix of vulture and reptile, Skeksis are the evil counterparts of the urRu. They are very familiar with betrayal of one another and deceit. They have also discovered a way to drain the life essence from other organisms to prolong life. While not agile with weapons, the have the nessecary skills as manipulators and sorcerers to be great Sith.

i think the kzinti (Larry Niven's feline species - Ringworld, Man/Kzin Wars) would be good Sith warriors.

With all due respects, I sincerely hope there is never a Star Wars crossover. Could you imagine a Star Wars / Star Trek crossover "Star Trek Wars". The war between the fans of the respective series would implode the net.

From Babylon 5, the Shadows would make wonderful Sith types while the Vorlon would be more Jedi like.

Baz, that's overstating things a bit. Some of us like me like both and see no point in 'fan wars'. :p

As do I. But I am pretty sure the fan reaction would be immediate and explosive the moment a cross over movie is announced.

For the more extreme vocal minorities yes I could see that but I don't think it'd be fandom wide.

    Bringing thread back on point.

I think Romulans would be a good Sith Race.

Thor / SIF would be great Jedis and I think Loki would be an excellent Sith

Not that this exact crossover is ever likely to happen, but: what about the D'ni in the Myst games (and books)? A race that can write entire worlds and civilizations with just ink and paper definitely must have some kind of a mystical affinity...

Sauron would most certainly be a match for Palpatine, as a Sith Lord

well sure, :p Sauron is a powerful wizard,

in the movies UNLIMITED POWERRR" means electricity from the fingertips :p

As for races in Trek, Babylon five, Stargate etc being good Jedi, Sith I wouldn't know, I don't tend to watch sci-fi as a rule, they're all the same under different names :p

I would really love to see some Doctor Who / Star Wars crossover!!!!

The TARDIS could definitely travel to a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Imagine the Doctor trying to figure out what the Force is and what humans are doing so long ago and so far from Earth . . .
