I am kinda surprised people are even talking about this. i find it hard to believe they would cancel Obi Wan. if anything this seems to be getting off the ground faster then the Cassian Andor show, and that show was announced first.

Disney have a pretty easy success on their hands with Obi Wan, when it comes to talent and the audience that have been fairly loud about wanting to see it.

So canceling it would be Stupid.

 

I agree with this so much, marvel has minimal problems yet with Star Wars there is always some sort of controversy. I don’t worry about a marvel movie but with Star Wars I’m wishing and praying

 

Lucasfilm hasn't earned a lot of trust in recent years. If they had, this rumor would have been strangled in its crib.

I still say Disney wanted Obi Wan to meet Baby Yoda last minute and threw a wrench into Lucasfilm’s ideas, but it will be resolved.

literally only major “creative difference” I can see popping up between last November and now.

 

This guy claims and says he has spoken to Jason Ward, whose apparently looking more into the subject and doesn't wanna report on it just yet until he is certain, that Lucasfilm is considering the idea of making Obi Wan into a movie again. basically allowing Disney and Co to fill in the 2022 slot and having more time developing another Star Wars movie project.

One of the vilest people in the Star Wars discourse, IMO. Just the worst on every level. How does anyone even get past her first couple smug sentences? Baffling that she has fans who actually listen to her.

Yeah, with TROS being a mess and rushed & with Terrio preferring the movie to have been split in two - I doubt they'd turn Kenobi into a single movie,lol. Ewan is not really a box office draw either and has not been in many years, even the The Shining sequel bombed and Star Wars is having trouble with the Box Office.

 

To be fair. i don't think it matters whether Ewan is a box office draw or not. its more whether there is wide appeal in him playing the character.

Its not like the last bunch of star wars movies had box office draws.

And really if there was gonna be any project the fans made a huge fuss about, it would be Obi Wan.

Yep I would much rather have 6 hours then 2 and a half

 

6 episodes then end the kenobi character for the screens. I'm sure we will get tie in Kenobi books and comics. I hope after this, it's the last on screen appearance of Obi wan. I mean he's been in 6 of 9 saga movies, one of the lead characters in the cone wars animation series, cameo in Rebels twice. Obi wan is probaly the character with most screet time and development out there.

 

I think episodes will be closer to the 40 minute mark similar to Mando but would be happy for them to be longer.

 

They will be around one hour each.
