Just saw a suggestion that we should replace Shark Week with Octopus Week next year.

Why not have both? The more people know about undersea creatures, the more likely they are to take care of our oceans.

I do like the classic album. Almost as old as I am! I own the 5.1 version of it.

But yes, did you know octopuses are capable of observational learning? That is, learning by observing another octopus, then imitating its actions. Once thought solely the domain of mammals.

 

I read this book on octopuses a couple of years ago and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s a shame to eat animals with such highly developed minds.

I don't mean to dwell, Ken, but it's such a cool solution to the problem of octopi cannibalism: have the mom bash her own brains out against a rock as soon as she lays eggs! And people say there's no God.

 

So ... Do all you can to protect the babies before they are born (hatched), and then literally leave to fend for themselves in the world once born with no survival assistance ...

Tell me again why the Octopus isn't the symbol for the Republican Party?
