Welcome to our Social Thread, where we discuss things of all sorts, not just fan films or filmmaking. If you want to post in the Fan Films Forum about something off-topic, you come here. Where everybody knows your naaaaaame.

The TOS is still in effect here, so no flaming, profanity, warez requests, spamming or anything like that.

    Have fun!

    Rick McCallum loves you!

First reply for unsticking as needed.

I'm sorry about the last thread going weird sticky-wise, folks. The boards went down for a bit and that may have contributed.

    Rick McCallum loves you!

    Ugh.

    4.0 was so young, too.

It's hard to watch the younglings fall.

    Aye, laddie. That it be.

EDIT: Wait, if there's to be no spamming, what's the point of this thread? I mean, really, all this thread is is spam!

You've seen the director's cut, right? Well, in thins edition Harrison Ford is dreaming about a unicorn, and that origami was a unicorn, I think, so it means that people know what he dreams. I.E., possibly he is also a replicant, like the others.

Indeed. It's a common argument among geeks as to wether Deckard was a replicant or not.

Poor little social thread. Doomed to locked obscurity. :(

Well, out of death comes life... So, let's enjoy this one. May the religious and political debates start!!

    Political and religeous debates? Okay . . . .

Yes, there is a God. All I need is for humans to create matter out of nothingness (or even out of energy) and I'll start to falter. Not theorize on how it's possible, but actually do it.

Politics . . . . oh, jeez. Where do I start? They'll all crooks. All of 'em. From the local scene to the U.N. I trust used car salesmen more than I do politicians.

Heck, Palpasidious shoulda taught us all that much. ;)

    Counter-arguments?

    NYAR!!!

    :p

EDIT: Incidentally, I'm not sticking around to read your responses. I'm going to sleep. So, rant against my opinions all you want - I won't respond until sometime tonight or in the morning.

Pst: John, we already can convert energy to matter. Happens all the time in particle accelerators, we just don't have the energy required to make anything more than subatomic particles at the moment.

Never seen the theatrical cut of Blade Runner, but as I was writing a paper on the film, I did make sure to be familiar with all the differences so I could know they wouldn't affect my argument. Based on what I've read about the original cut (which featured voice-overs by Harrison Ford and an ending that had way too much resolution), seeing the version you saw was better (not to mention being the only choice at the moment). I really think the end is perfect. The unicorn origami both helps flag the question of Decker's humanity and signal that someone is watching, the elevator door shuts, roll credits... It's a beautiful ending. One of those cases where what basically amounts to a cliffhanger is the perfect way to stop the story, and should never be resolved. I love that end.

    I may be too late...

...but I didn't like Blade Runner.
    When I was 12.

    That's saying something.
I haven't seen it since, but back then, even the Mortal Kombat movie was pretty darn sweet.

If you notice the pattern (that I saw) you get a cookie.

Don't worry, it's not anything overly "Beautiful Mind".
I just thought it was funny and worth mentioning.

EDIT: TAC, I had heard about that. I don't buy it.
Unless Lucas has COMPLETELY lost all his sense and good taste. Then I would think it's possible.

I still think it's people looking deeper into things than they should. If I remember how a co-worker told the story, a fan asked if he would do it, and he mentioned the idea interested him.

As we fanfilmers should very well know, having the idea means nothing. It's the actions that get the film made, and I honestly don't think he'll take any action unless he REALLY has nothing better to do/contradicts himself again.
