Mini Series Official “The Acolyte” Series Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

Full stop. Amanda Stenberg rocked in this show. We watched it for every moment of them. This is their time. Great show. Best show since Andor. #HeardItHere

 

I wish I could agree with that. There were some great things in this show, including characters like Sol and Qimir and Jecki (and even Yord), but unfortunately, Mae and Osha were not one of those great things (for me). Way too flat and generally poorly acted, I thought.

 

They were okay, not a problem for me. I thought the two main witches, sol, jecki and Qimir were excellent

 

The two main witches? One of them put in one of the worst acting performances I’ve seen, it was on par with some legendary bad performances like Street Fighter.

Considering that perceived "failures" aren't guaranteed a permanent place on streaming servers nowadays, I reckon my mind just got made up by seeing this thread move here. I'm gonna re-watch The Acolyte this weekend.

Happy to report that I highly recommend it. The show works much, much better as a binge. I had a great time. The only downside was that it made the sting of its premature cancellation all the more painful, but it's worth enduring to celebrate what we have, while we still have it.

 

Im going to sit for a rewatch too. I needed more Acolyte in my life. And Mother Aniseya was criminally underutilized.

 

After the reaction to the acolyte, I’ve decided to stop calling myself a Star Wars fan. I still love Star Wars, I just don’t associate with the fandom anymore

It was actually a great series. I like the Sith Lord. They better make a season 2

 

Worst part is, I understand, sympathise, and agree with you both.

Maybe we should finally get our own name. Maybe that'd help. You know, like "Trekkies" but for Star Wars. No idea what it'd be, though.

Nah, the story told in Plagueis (the novel) is one of the best stories we've ever received across all Star Wars media. They didn't "try" to give him a story. They gloriously succeeded. I know it won't happen, but if Disney ever made a movie with the story told in Plagueis exactly as it was, it would be one of the best SW movies of all times.

Unfortunately, her performance was very poor, but so was her character(s).

Are negative opinions about Star Wars content not allowed?
My faith was actually somewhat restored after a big chunk of the audience rejected this show, as I think it caused harm to the SW brand.
