So I like to take the time to post some Commander Cody art as despite being one of the more known clones, film wise, he's still pretty underrated IMO. Often overshadowed by Rex in the Clone Wars, I hope he'll show up again sometime in the future (perhaps in the upcoming Bad Batch show).

Off topic question, but are the bad batch considered commando or arc troopers. Their helmets and armor are unique. They use weaponry and act like commandos, but have the arc trait of not wanting to work with others (regs)

 

I think they're classified as commandos. And with the regs thing i think they're referring to normal non mutated clones,not standard infantry like the arcs. To the personality thing that's probably just part of the mutation.

I hope Bad Batch reveals what led Palpatine to stop using clones.

 

Palpatine was unhappy with the level of personality the clones developed (when some clones decided to not follow orders they thought were wrong {see Umbara arc}). Also as the Emperor, he started to become very xenophobic towards all non-humans (specifically people who looked very no human (an Ithorian would feel very discriminated but a Clawdite would feel less discriminated). The empire wanted to cut down on costs so they manufactured worse arms, armor, ships, and cut down on training levels, which greatly benefited the Tarkin doctrine as with numbers you can have more displays of force as opposed to one unfathomably large show of force. In order to take out rebel cells pirates, and indigenous peoples, numbers are more important than quality (the outer rim campaign). Storm troopers were more specialized, there are more types of them so they can be used in almost any situation and tend to be more specialized than clones (not ARC/ARF or commandos).

 

Palpatine himself was never Xenophobic to other races as one of his highest advisors and 3rd in line to the empire was an alien. He also was pleased with Thrawn. He just used speciesism to his advantage
