So, what do you all think of the awesomeness of Grievous last week in Duel of the Droids? Those who have seen it know what part I'm talking about. ;) Personally, I thought it was excellent, a complete surprise, and the duel between the good general and Ahsoka was also very well-done.

At least he scared a jedi.

Yeah. I was worried that Ahsoka would fare well in the duel, but thankfully those fears were allayed.

Are you speaking of Lair of Grievous/The Lair of General Grievous?

Awesomeness all around, his sadistic behavior against R2, the impaling of the Trandoshan droid trader and his fight with Ahsoka...it's the General Grievous I've been wanting to see since the series began.

And I hope we see more of that in the future.

The trailer for the showing of all 3 parts of the Malevolence arc had Grievous in it, of course, but the part where he faces the audience has very jerky movement. I can't exactly describe what it reminds me of.

I'm really excited for 'Lair of General Grievous'.
In the preview, I see some statues of Kaleesh warriors, and I really truly hope they do explain his past. But I'm not going to get my hopes up too high; so far all I've seen is a very...weakly portrayed Grievous.
    One can only hope.

I think we will get a glimpse of Grievious's past. I was listening to one of the roundtables from the podcast and they said that there is a good posibility we will either see what he looked like or they elaborate on what he used to be.

    Good Stuff

Even though they are not showing more of his...backstory than I would have hoped, I'm still glad that he is getting some screentime, more than in the movie, that is.
So excited. Please let them show Ronderu, or even the shuttle crash.

Hopefully at least one of the statues is Ronderu.

Well they said on Kalee, when Grievous "left" they built a statue of him and honored him, so I would imagine that Ronderu would get something.

One of the fans at the projektstarwars TCW forum thought they looked like 'Sith statues'. Do they?

They're Kaleesh statues, but the faces actually do bear a resemblance to Sith in my opinion.

They resemble the Pre-Cyborg Grievous to me.

Yes, the are Kaleesh. They have face masks like the Kaleesh, and their dress is similar as well. When their masks are off on a statue, you can see their tusks.

Ugh. So they're still going with that awful figurine look for the Kaleesh? (Suppresses a shudder.) This is one part of Grievous's background that I wish this series had revised completely. I just do not envision pre-cyborg Grievous as a scrawny red-skinned Nosferatu with big flat Don Martin feet in my fannish brain.

The funny part is that if you look at the entry for Kaleesh in the new guide to Star Wars aliens, they're described as 'attractive'. HA! Not to me! (That's if you accept the figurine look as the official version, I mean. The Kaleesh dude illoed in the guide was a little different and quite spiffy and could well have been 'attractive' beneath his concealing mask.)

I like how they look. Very...reptilian, slender. I'd date Grievous. :D

Well, maybe they look attractive...to other Kaleesh.:p

Yeah, they do look Sith like, but to me it's just the style of art they're employing...and I don't know about you, but I would pay money to have one of those as a bust or statue.:D

I agree. At least show a small montage of his transformation...that would be neat.:D

I would like to see how the Geonosians do it. I mean, just a spinal cord, organs, a brain, eyes...very difficult to do, I would imagine.

I wonder whose decapitated head the statue has ahold of here?
