Solo [Official Info] Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) in Solo

Here is a new thread for all rumours about Young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo film.

I initially thought, if it were just a cameo, he could have been portrayed by Cory Dee Williams (Billy Dee Williams's son) who was a stuntman/stand in in on Return of the Jedi (as well as Klatuu) ->




But, that would really only work if they were going down the CGI -de-aging, cameo process.

If he's gonna have a substantial role in the film, it'll prob be best to go with a more accomplished actor.

Latest rumours say Donald Glover could be a possibility.

 

Brilliant choice I think. I hope they go for it. He can pull off the smoothing talking charisma.

 

Hope there is a musical number.

Count me in for the Lando solo movie. His comic series was great.

 

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed that.

Glover seems a bit too nerdy for Lando. Would prefer someone smoother (not sure who though).

 

Glover's and unexpectedly decent fit, but i too feel like he is too... this gen. i havent got a pic, and im aware makeup can do wonders, but for some reason his physicality doesnt match up either, Donald is quite a small guy.
but yeh, this rumour has circled to a few other major news places, so it feels like its the real deal (because why not?), Lando fits! (as in the cast sheets having the code name 'Chance', etc looking for a young Han, rumour, havent seen the Donald as Lando one)

now ill go away and have a think about my dream young Lando.

its strange, now that its happened (recastings) its easier to accept each one as they come along.. i bet if Luke is one of the last to get recast, i probably wouldnt bat an eye lid...
i was certainly not cool with the young Han idea, but maybe ill come round by the time 2018 hits!

(so I think he probably smooth enough to pull it off with that revelation...)

Donald Glover can do no wrong in my book so....I am very much behind him playing Lando just like I wanted him to be Spiderman.

 

It would be awesome to show all the trouble Han and Lando caused. It sounded like in the ESB those two were a pretty wreckless duo. I think Glover could fit that part rather well honestly.

 

The directors for this Han and Lando series are likely going to blow the roof off our notion of how fun and funny a SW film can be.

Donald Glover sharing the screen with Alden Ehrenreich would be pretty great.

 

As long as they don't wink at the audience, with references to the OT.

 

If it is as smart as the 21 Jump Street references I'd be fine with it.

Seriously though. Yeah, as much as I love the Prequels, the reuse of Classic lines from the OT was a little much.
