Rogue One [Official Info] Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - December 16, 2016

I'm really not interested in this if it's about Rogue Squadron. It's like a Boba Fett or Han Solo the Kid movie, too fanboy or EU sounding for my tastes. I hope you guys love it, I for one will consider sitting out on this Star Wars. They will have to sell me on it first.

 

Well I hope this is a rogue squadron flick....dog fighting and inside the cockpit shots certainly get my Star Wars Fandom going



Blowing the crap out of TIES and AT-ATs from inside the cockpit in the rogue squadron series was a blast....

 

your the first person I thought of when they announced this movie.
given your passion and desire to see a Rogue Squadron adapted in any form.

 

My brother and I were talking (and he loves Frozen) and this and Frozen 2 were announced on the same day...not sure how we got so lucky, but today was clearly our day!

So when can we start fan-casting Felicity's co-stars?

 

I'm excited about Rogue One for sure, but I do hope they get Ewan on board and a good script for a stand-a-lone Obi-Wan flick. Set it 5 years or so after Revenge of the Sith. Maybe it tells the tale of the one time Obi-Wan travels off Tatooine, while Luke is growing up. Cast a bunch of new gangsters and bounty hunters. Greedo cameo. Neeson's voice for Qui-Gon speaking to Obi-Wan. Show us a chase sequence through Beggar's Canyon...Show us a Krayt Dragon...We see Kenobi take on the "Ben" name and he takes down a crime syndicate or does something that keeps the Empire away from Tatooine, so he's indirectly helping protect Luke and the future of the galaxy while also resolving an immediate problem, an injustice of some kind.

 

it was a Disney shareholder meeting, I was expecting a Frozen 2 to be announced for the last few weeks.

as for casting since I read somewhere they start filming this summer, I expect an announcement between now and Celebration if not than by early Summer basically SOON.

 

A new Rogue Squadron game

 

I'm honestly running through my mind who the male lead could be and who I'd want it to be, and I can't think of anybody. Can't wait for the announcement, because it's going to drive me crazy, trying to think of somebody!

 

A little cranky I too would like to read a description of the concept art.

I'm thinking they would want to have some fan service in the movie and include some related characters if it's set post VI but if it's set between III and IV,then I see the characters from IV appearing I for one hopes for Biggs and Wedge.

 

I was talking actors...but yeah, characters too.

 

Star Wars is not apart of the title. It's just Rogue One.

Never heard of either...but I was also unfamiliar with Felicity Jones before today.

 

Felicity Jones was in The Amazing Spiderman 2 and I saw in 1 other movie

I'm not sure we know that for certain yet. The announcement may have just not repeated the full "Star Wars" part when referencing the title. The emphasis at this point is on what's new: Rogue One.

 

According to Lucasfilm, apparently the branding for the spinoffs hasn't been completely sorted out yet, so they left "Star Wars" off the front on purpose. It wasn't accidental or space-saving. It could be Star Wars Chronicles or Star Wars Legacies or Star Wars Origins, or just plain Star Wars, or no Star Wars at all - But as of right now, the title is just Rogue One.

 

So its not a Boba Fett movie!?!?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they are calling it just "Rogue One". I'd like to see the spin-off films have edgier, more creative, less traditional logo designs.

 

Oddly enough, I'm kinda more hyped up about a potential Rogue Squadron movie than TFA itself.

Agreed. With the spin offs, hopefully they dont even show any known characters and do their own story. They can take it anywhere and there are no expectations. Unfortunately so far I am bummed out by TFA spoilers. Like TPM, it cannot possibly meet everyone's expectations.

 

I would literally "squee" aloud if that happened.

 

A Commander Kettch doll would be one of the best merchandising opportunities in Star Wars history. XD

 

If he's cast I'll deal with because I'll have to. But I personally don't want Aaron Paul anywhere near Star Wars. I can't stand the sound of his voice.
