    looking awsome. I seem to remember you saying there was going to be multple stations spread out amongst the ships being fixed/built. are they going to be connected by anything?

    Updates! Modified the textures to be more subtle. The first two here still have some of the old texture but give you some good views overall:

    ^Not sure if the "windows" along the outter edges are too small. They may not be at the right scale. I've had a hard time building a texture for the random windows that seems to come out looking good. This one looks okay, but may set the scale a bit large compared to the bays. The bays are around 60 feet high.

    Here is some new new shading on the panel areas that I like much better...
    [image=http://www.stoneartgallery.com/fdp/stills/production/cgi/cy713-gray.jpg]

    Here is a test animation. QT Sorensen 3. It lightened the colors a bit when it compressed it...

    Would love to hear some more feedback on the new textures or the model in general. Is it too shiny? Or not shiny enough? Should I get some varried specularity on the large paneled sections?

    I think it looks great! the colors are nice. I dont think any thing is too shiny. I like how you you have the panels in the aniimation. that grey color works pretty good.

    and i wouldnt change the colors on the large panels. they look good as is.

    I finally got to comp where the screen was bright enough to see it.

    I likied the pic with the new shading, it looks more real. I must say i was having a hard time catching the whole feel of it being 3D. i could see it ,but just not feeling it. With these pics i was amazed, the new veiw help me get a feel of the station.The motion solidified the 3d feel. I was able t see the objects around the bay at differnt angels and that cylynider on the right hand side look so cool in motion.I am in aww.

    ON a side note: does the back look the same or is it different?
    On yet another side not: is that thingy hanging in the hangar new ?

    Something to help the scale...

    QT Sorensen 3 1.3MB

    I decided that I don't like the color. It just doesn't look real on that scale. So I'm going to pull it back out again...

    The colors on the panels on the outside of the station. Too colorful.

    More texturing on the bay floors:
    [image=http://www.stoneartgallery.com/fdp/stills/production/cgi/cy726-BayFloor.jpg] [image=http://www.stoneartgallery.com/fdp/stills/production/cgi/cy726-BayFloor2.jpg] [image=http://www.stoneartgallery.com/fdp/stills/production/cgi/cy726-BayFloor3.jpg] [image=http://www.stoneartgallery.com/fdp/stills/production/cgi/cy726-BayFloor4.jpg]
    The last one has the reflections pulled out so that it doesn't look so new and shiny. But I like the spotty reflections. I think they will look correct once I get all of the other elements in the scene. They are just oil and water spots on the floors. Water fits into the storyline.

    Sorry, but I had to reorganize my site's directory structure, so all of these pics moved.

    This page contains all images and videos linked so far and will be kept up to date with future updates as well.

    For now, here are the latest bay floor pics in the correct location:

    Thanks!
    Actually, those pics are of the bays in the space station. It's actually a construction yard where huge ship parts are constructed.

    Fighting does not make a fan film great. There are several fan films with decent fights and terrible stories. The story makes it worth watching. Agreed though that if the fight sucks then your climax can destroy the movie.

    This particular film, however, is dead barring an instant influx of unforseen, massive amounts of cash.

    I've sold off all of my filming equipment and haven't thought of this thing in a couple of months.

    Hey Guys and Gals...the stuff we talked about last night? Was that for a fan film, Rav?

    Cuz if so...we're gonna be famous. :D

    We should try to have something on tape before C3. I'm not real big on fanfilms, so forgive me if I sound like a big doof...but if theres some kind of contest there????

    We should start working on this asap...not just the costuming and choreography, either. Every fanfilm I've ever seen is lacking in one major category...dialogue.

    We all talk everyday without sounding like morons...why is it that the dialogue in amateur film is always so atrocious?

    Hhhmmmm.
