    I can try. :)

We are typically slow enough to get away with lots of extracurricular online time at work. Tomorrow I have to clean computer labs, but perhaps I could work on ski trip stuff wednesday? Keep in touch with me on this,T. :)

    *bump*

Anything new on this? Feb 2 is approaching in just under a month now. I wish I could look into housing more myself, but given work deadlines I'm not going to be able to...

Someone needs to decide on housing, and it's not going to be me.

Here I am... having to do all the research, legwork, and make the decisions again...

    Altamont as Wildernest

It's $350+tax a night for the nights Friday and Saturday night (1-2 February), has hot tub, sleeps 10, does not include reservation/cleaning fee of $125--comes to about $881 for the whole weekend with estimated 8% tax. That's $88.10 per person for 10 people. If we have more, it obviously goes down.

It's either this, or it's hotel time. And glancing at Arapahoe Inn in Silverthorne, it's going to cost $140 a night for a double, and that's not even a chain. Best Western and Holiday Inn will cost more, and won't have private hot tub access.

Honestly, there's nowhere else that I've found to accommodate a group as large as ours for less.

Jeff & I are out! $352.40 for lodging for the two of us & we don't even get to get funky??? We haven't even talked about food, drinks, skiing & shopping.

We can go up for a day & hang out, but that will be it.

Well, we can do just one night there; they didn't have a minimum. Total for the night of February 2nd is $503, or $50 split 10 ways. Jana tells me we only have 7 right now, so that's about $75.

Dayyyyyyyyyyuuumn. Have prices really gone up that much in 5 years? I remember back in the day when a townhouse for the weekend could be split between 4 people for $80/each. Oh, wait, it can -- but only in Wolf Creek. :p The slopes are much better and less crowded, too. But oh well.

Yeah, I think we've already said no, but just to make sure -- um, no.

Oh well. I think Doc's coming down that weekend anyway. Woot.

I agree we can't do that either. I would love to go and hang out, but 352.40 for just to stay is crazy.

    Have fun everyone.

    How do you figure $350?

It's $80/person for the weekend... For 2 people that's $160 (including tax and cleaning fee) for the whole weekend.

How am I the one doing the math, and I'm not even the accountant? :p

That's what I find funny -- you just want to spend money to drink cocoa. You're not even planning on skiing. :p

I read wrong, my bad. I read Kim's post and glanced at Nigel?s. I am not sure if we will be in, since Courtney is pregnant, she would need here own room with a bed.

Sorry, I don't have all day to read the boards. I am at work, I am just trying to comment on what is going on. All I know is we were talking at New Years about people having to sleep on the floor. I will go ahead and read further later but, I was just commenting on what I thought I knew.

    SO CHILL OUT!!

Sorry, dude, my bad. I'm getting a little stabby here.

We're looking at $88.10 total per person for two nights @ 10 people (that is NOT $170 for the weekend--it is for each person to pay for the two nights). Less if we do just one night or have more people. Trust me, I have Courtney's needs in mind. :) And, everyone else's, too, I hope.

Another way to put that is: it's $44.05 per person per night for two nights @ 10 people. That is with 8% taxes and cleaning/reservation fee taken into account. :-B

Since my weekend employment fell through, I'm going to pass on this trip, but take lots of pictures for me! Not to mention this is the weekend of the Super Bowl.

So with fewer and fewer people going, we may want to re-think our housing options:

    we can:

-rent a house for two days (usually involves a cleaning fee)
    -go to a hotel
-shorten the trip to a day trip

does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Well, I say this trip has officially fallen apart.

I see three options from here out:

    1. Make it a day trip instead of a weekend trip. We could still get a group rate for tickets and rentals.

    2. Postpone the trip for a later date - Late February or March. Since nothing has been booked, this could be feasible. I believe the date of Feb 2 was somewhat arbitrary anyways.

    3. Bag it altogether and call it a Job Badly Done. ;)
