Discussion number 1...

North Korea and its Taepodon-2 Long Range Inter-continental Ballistic Missle.

Short story: Korea claims to have a "powerful" warhead, attached to this thing (possibly nuclear). There trying to have it to be able to reach U.S. soil. Well, the U.S. is going to try and blow it up if it comes within a 1,000 miles of U.S soil. Of course, the koreans have threatened to nuke the hell out of us if we do try to shoot it down....

So the missile was supposedly launched this morning, and it crashed 35 seconds after take-off....It didn't even reach japan...

So yeah, discuss

 

We're closing in on Nuclear War and most of the world doesn't even know it. They're all to busy watching MTV to check out the news.

 

but are the koreans bluffing? for all we know they could be fighting with stones and sticks....no intel comes outta korea man, all we got on them is satellite images, thats the only reason we figured out about the Taepodong-2 missile anyway...

 

You're right; they could have nothing. The "test" launches didn't make it anywhere. Even if they do have the weapons technology, apparently they can't send it very far.

 

Well, they sent one flying over japan in 1999, and that was a short range missile, so they obviously have the technology....

DISCUSSION NUMBER 2: Israel and the Lebanon Situatuion.

short story: Hezbollah captured 2 Israeli soldiers and is holding them hostage. Israel's response was to bomb the hell outta them, and the air campaign is well under well. Is Israel acting in self defense?, or is there some bigger goals trying to be achieved?, and do you think the conflict will spread.

I think the soldiers' capture was a good excuse for Israel to make a move against Hezbollah. The fighting in the Gaza strip is raging as well, but Israel says it can maintain combat on both fronts.

 

They have the fourth largest army in the world, they sure as hell better be able to fight on two fronts.

 

I heard on CNN that they are gathering their forces near the border and are probably thinking of a full scale invasion of Lebanon. I also heard that this whole conflict is already making gas prices start to reach toward the 80$ a barrel mark. Not good news.

 

Yeah, I think they've begun their invasion and are in Southeren Lebanon already.


In all seriousnes, don't we seem erriely close to WWIII?

 

I saw the tanks lining up last night and told my friend Israel was getting ready to blow somebody off the face of the earth.
