Niagara, ON ~Official~ YJN Fanfilm thread~

Just to let you all know, am hoping to direct a short fanfilm for YJN.
Chris has given me the OK on this and I will be starting it with help from members who wish to participate.
We will try to make this as fun and worthwhile as possible. I will keep those interested informed. If you wish to contribute, just email Chris, or email me at han_youngjediniagara@hotmail.com telling me whatever ideas you have or how you want to contribute.

This is what I can say so far:
-I will be "head" of this project, though everyone participating will have a say in it.
- the screenplay will be written by Darth_Pestilence with help from Woofer
-The film will be set after Episode 4 and before Episode 5. That way we can include more characters.
-casting will be done after the screenplay is done; chances are you will get a part in the film.

Basic Plotline Ideas:

- The Rebels (Han, Luke Leia and (hopefully)Chewbacca receive a distress call from a nearby system
- The Rebels discover a Jedi who has been hiding out
- Imperials somehow find out about this Jedi
- Imperials send Boba Fett
- Imperials land on the planet, encounter the Rebels and the Jedi
- There is a big blaster fight
- There is a lightsaber duel with Luke and the Jedi vs. Darth Vader

Please post any other ideas and/or comments here. The more ideas we receive, the more things we can include in the screenplay. Also, post here to tell you want to be involved.

 

Eryn will be Leia (the costume was actually made for her in the first place) and I will help out in any way that you think is good (I don't know if there's any part I would fit in?) This is such a great idea...count us in!

 

Oh come on! At least hold auditons for Leia! Even if I dont get the part, at least I get to wear the costume

 

You know I'm the only one who knows how to do the hair, Graeme. I have a thing for curls.....are you really ready for that??

 

Casting decisions will be made later, although I already have certain people in mind. We will have approximately 10 characters (6 main, 4 extras) but this will most likely change as the story develops.
First priority is the story treatment and screenplay.

 

Hello...
I say you set the movie after Episode 6. Because then you could have Luke a full Jedi, but you can't have Boba Fett. If it takes place after Episode 4, then you can't have him a jedi, or at least not a good one, since he hasn't even met up with Yoda yet.
It sounds like a great idea. I'd be glad to help, probuly behind the scenes tho.

 

We wont cut out Vader, The Emperor and Boba Fett from the film to make Luke a better Jedi. Part of the movie will depict how Luke isn't a great fighter at this point.

We have alot of extra costumes now that we have upgraded or changed our original ones.
We should have a part for everyone...I hope.

 

Yes! I can't WAIT to start this project. Well Nick, we already talked, and you know you have my full support in this, and I'll help ya all you need it.

 

Well, from what story we have so far, I have tried to incorporate as many OT characters as possible.
Here is a list of characters that WILL be in the film:
- Luke
- Han
- Leia
- Darth Vader
- Boba Fett
- Palpatine
- Imperial Officer
- Stormtrooper
- 5 Biker Scouts

We also have a costume for the as-of-yet unnamed Jedi.
If you have a costume from Episodes 4-6, please post them here. I will try to incorporate them
Also, if you have stormtrooper armour PLEASE EMAIL ME @ Han_YoungJediNiagara@hotmail.com. I would like to have more stormtroopers

PS. To answer your question, CranieAmidala, Luke's fighting skills will be amateur at best; the other real Jedi will be the truly great fighter. One of the plot points will show how Luke becomes impatient, constantly asking to be trained by the Jedi. I wanted to make this plot reminiscent of the classic Star Wars Marvel Comics from 1977-1980.

As you know, I have the Leia and Palpatine costumes available, and I am working on a Jedi Luke costume now. I'm pretty good at whipping up anything else if you need it, and I would be happy to do it!

Shall I start looking for green fur for the rabbit?

 

I'm in, I'm hopping I don't have to be a bikerscout... but.... Meh... This should be fun!!

Just remember, don't think ALL of those costumes will be in the film. From what I've come up with so far, we can only incorporate a limited amount of characters. We can't have 2 dozen characters running around in a 20-minute film. It just ruins the storytelling.

This sounds like a great idea, and I'm sure it will be lots of fun! I have a Vader costume and 2 royal Guards if you like. I'd like to help out any way possible.

 

Good, I was kind of relying on your Vader costume.

We will be meeting at the, downtown, St. Catharines Library this Friday at 4pm. If anyone would like to help in the pre-production stage please join us there.

 

Anyone else wishing to have any part in this film is welcome to attend. It will give everyone a chance to give their ideas and tell what they would like to do to help. This meeting, however will be mainly focused on the pre-production.

 

Yay! I made it to the boards.

Anyway, I have completed the basic plot line and am starting on the fleshed out version. I have a new WordPad easier to read & slightly edited copy of the plot line. If I'm not on, Chris, Nick and John have it. If you ask nicely, I'm sure they'll give it to you.
