    Beto. He's not my first choice (I do like him though) but I feel like he's energized the Democratic base more than anyone else on the potential list.

    IMO Biden shouldn't run especially after the Kavanaugh hearings had everybody remembering his treatment of Anita Hill.

    I just want Trump primaried. I will swap parties just to try and stop him. If Kasich musters up the courage to do it, I'd be shocked but very pleased.

    As to the rest, literally anyone is better than Trump at this point. There isn't a Democrat on that list I wouldn't support over Trump.

    If I had to choose however, Harris. With Beto as her VP.

    Probably best that I haven’t poured a glass of wine yet because I would have spit it out. [face_laugh]

    Other thoughts:

    —Please, please, please let Trump get primaried. Jeff Flake or John Kasich. I’m unaffiliated so I can vote in either primary here, but if NC were to go to closed primaries, I would register as a Republican just to vote for the candidate who primaries Trump.

    For the Democratic side:

    —No Bernie, not after his comment about how people can be “uncomfortable” voting for Gillum or Abrams without being racist. I’m very disappointed.

    —Among the likely candidates: Kamala Harris or Elizabeth Warren. I don’t know much about Beto O’Rourke other than I certainly would have supported him over Ted Cruz.

    —Candidate whom I would pay good money towards his campaign: Andrew Gillum.

    Also, he's a terrible POTUS candidate and I'll keep repeating it until people believe me. If you thought people could make things stick against Dem candidates for financial lobbying / payola and/or race gaffes -- he's got both. :p

    Yeah, I like Biden, but he doesn’t need to run. Nobody in the old guard centrist establishment needs to run. Even Corey Booker would be an iffy prospect, and he’s not old guard.

    Purely on strategy than anything else. Democrats need to hurt the electoral votes of Trump as much as possible. That means states that are solidly blue are no help.

    Beto came close to taking out Cruz. With better planning and more turnout, he might have actually gotten there. Harris is California and that's a solid Democratic state in terms of Electoral votes. Warren and Biden don't help that either given both are solid blue. Most of the other Senators add little as well. But Beto puts Texas into play. Highly unlikely they actually turn it blue, but the down ballot races that year would be helped tremendously. More important, his fundraising shattered records. If he pours that energy into the campaign, it can make a dent in the already large warchest that Trump has been building. And it appeals to younger voters who have made up their minds about Biden, Warren etc. and hopefully motivates them to vote.

    Alec Baldwin running would be a joke. But if per chance he got the democratic nomination to face Trump in a debate I would accept him coming out dressed as Trump for that chance of hilarity commencing.
