While it's true that gay rights are under attack, due to Buttgieg's race and wealth, he's completely out of touch with what the lgbt community faces.
She was asked if more people needed to be in the military, and she said that serving in the military brings the country together. No Elizabeth, communally killing brown people for our freedumbs doesn't bring us together.

They asked whether there should be more people in the military and she answered yes. Frankly, I don't find this answer so outrageous.

Sounds like a dumb question. More context is needed. This would be like asking if we should have more teachers or doctors. The answer is yes, but there are more nuances to that.

The only thing we can agree we don’t need more of is lawyers and Democratic presidential candidates

Yeah, I mean it's not a great answer, but I'm not going to write her off because of it. If she's going around talking about intervention in other countries, then I'll be pissed.

And on that, she has answered before that problems like the Middle East cannot be solved by the military and we need to get them out and let diplomacy take over.

So yeah, I don’t think she is the next John Bomby bomb bomb Bolton or anything

lmao nobody answered the question about whether that governor belongs in the party

    Also:
Pete Buttchug: "People in washington take my words out of context"
Also Pete Buttchug: "You said I was gonna invade Mexico!"

Sanders' record there is woefully lacking, of all of the people up there... :p So yeah, I don't find it surprising that people dodged the question (overall).

And Buttigieg is not having it from Gabbard... he did to her what Harris did, except better...

You're the living example that not even Harris' supporters are impressed by her anymore :p

No, I thought she did a good job with it -- I just thought Pete did it better. It's weird, because she's specifically known for being extremely prepared as a prosecutor and it shows in Senate hearings -- but she's not as effective on a debate stage and Pete really, really is. Bernie's problem in 2016, and before his heart attack, was roughly similar -- saying the right things, but in a poor way, but man -- he's gotten ridiculously better in the last two debates. Warren's still trying to play it safe.

Many many years ago dp and I supported the same candidate, and I think he'll agree when I say it's not possible to be more disappointed in someone you've once supported.

Pete is going to be the nominee.
And it will be painful to watch.

Biden continues his streak of Argle, Blargle, Barack Obama...

EDIT: I mean, I definitely have Pete and Bernie having the best debate again. I'd go Pete > Bernie, but I wouldn't quibble if someone went opposite.

My internet cut out with about thirty minutes left. I'd agree with dp though. Booker maybe third. Maybe.

If Warren thinks there should be more people in the military, then she thinks there’s not enough, which means she supports the massive scope of our military. The only answer I’m looking for is “lol no, why”.

Not sure how it brings us together when some don’t come home at all and others don’t come home in one piece, mentally or physically.

He Is too conservative for me I like a more Liberal candidate but not too Liberal. I like Kamala Harris or Cory Booker I don't get why more people don't like them. they also bring in the African American vote that got Obama elected twice;)

In terms of who benefited the most, I'd say

    Pete
    Klobuchar
    Harris
    Booker
    Warren

    I hate this world.

Hey, a candidate just pointed out that Palestinians are deserving of respect and dignity. Any guesses on whom?

So I wasn't doing great yesterday and ended up sleeping through the debate. Part of me is disappointed because of that elusive ideal of "being informed" but the other part of me thinks I'm probably better off.

    Still, any highlights?

From the top of my head

    Nothing crucial happened.
Terrible questions, especially in the first hour.
Bernie the only candidates mentioning Palestinians
    Biden being Biden
    Everybody had a decent night
Media will probably celebrate Pete and Klobuchar
If you like the drama, perhaps watch Gabbard vs Harris and Gabbard vs Pete
    No questions about Bolivia
No questions about West Bank settlements, or Gaza (how ridiculous is that???)
    Bernie's fans will be happy
Warren said she wants more people in the military

That'd be giving Biden too much credit on coherence.

I can't believe Biden still has a real shot at the nomination this late. I don't understand people who support him. He can't even properly finish a sentence.
