Politico: Biden signals to aides he would serve only one term

If this is true and gets confirmed, or even worse if he publicly assumes this position outright, then that's it, I don't see how he maintains his position in the race. His whole brand is about being the tough guy who's ready for any fight, but this is basically an admission that he doesn't actually want to be president.

newest south carolina poll (and first post-harris, w/bloomberg): biden 27, sanders 20, warren 19, buttigieg 9, booker/steyer 5, gabbard 4, bloomberg 3, yang/klobuchar 2, everyone else 1 or lower. charleston newspaper post & courier/change research ran this poll.

biden down big, sanders up, warren holding steady, buttigieg not in the mix. steyer and gabbard with good showings due to miserably high media presence in the state - tulsi in more conservative areas, steyer every-****ing-where.

first noticeable indicator of biden's support dropping - even through the fall as he was plummeting, his support held steady here.

As interesting as this is, I'm curious to see exactly how the hard data matches the polling once the actual votes are in. If they don't, that doesn't bode well for the remainder of the primary, or for the general. Good news there is that people who oppose Trump are less likely to be complacent either way based solely on "the numbers."

Older African Americans still support Biden big time, but younger African Americans are definitely siding with Bernie. It'll be interesting to see which one wins out here.

The divide is old/young regardless of race. The only big difference with African-Americans is that no one, young or old, likes Buttigieg.

v03, one thing that has been noticeable over the years here is that, while not immune from iowa and new hampshire momentum, the state doesn't fall in line. obama in 2008 and gingrich in 2012 are probably the best recent examples that I can point to.

vivec, i can't find a copy of the poll data yet, but i suspect that's true here, as well.

    edit - removed some inaccuracies

This is why we need Bernie as our president.

    1. News outlets have never just "reported the news." The myth of objectivity seems to have arisen from Murrow and Cronkite but they weren't "objective" either.

    2. It's hard to fill the whole day with programming.

Get ready for CNN, MSNBC and the rest of legacy media to start fear mongering over the UK elections, saying that the Democrats are too far left. It's all part of their plan to reelect Trump, because he is a Republican and all those companies are owned by Republicans. It's that simple.

It doesn't matter if the owners are registered Democrats. They're still rich and Trump is the best for them.

Yeah keep in mind that Tapper concern trolling buys him a new car, and Madow fearmongering about Russia and Jill Stein pay for a new house. None of them want change, even if they do truly hate Trump, they still just want "normal" at most. That normal being a nation bathed in blood of course

In every other country elections are mostly boring.
Media start talking about them roughly three months before election day, the primaries are barely mentioned, and the probable winner is usually known without huge surprises.

In US they created a business out of election coverage. This is why they keep trying to
artificially make things happen, while the situation is actually pretty steady.

This is why we get nonsense like the so called Betomania, or Biden allegedly going up and down even though he's basically remained roughly stable on top, or this completely insane obsession with the poll numbers.

The NY Time The Daily podcast has been running candidate interviews with the top 4. Today’s was Elizabeth Warren.

Highly recommend listening to all of them. They haven’t done Joe’s yet.
