Ok...I, like a few others, have refrained from making any comments here until now, for a few reasons (which arent important).


But here are my comments....right now I am with AYBABTU....let this drop. LMM has had an official warning. We have been told that if he acts like this again, he will be given the shaft. Thats enough.

When Dan points out his unfair banning, as well as others that have been banned for tiny offences...well, thats a new issue. That comes down to a lack of impartiality, and a lack of consistency on behalf of individual moderators and the administration as a whole.

I've made my point many times that something needs to be done with respect to these matters. Nothing has come of it. The administration arent open to hearing this stuff.

Chances are that anything being said about the administration isnt being listened to, which means that the only other part of the discussion is from the same few members making the same points about LMM over and over again.
Unless anyone has anything amazingly new and groundbreaking to say, then there is no need for everyone to continue this debate.

 

a new issue? seriously, if *I* took 5 posts in a row to have a conversation with my self I doubt I would just be warned. But I'm done, thats been made clear and I'm off to check out YJCC...

I don't really see what's wrong with those posts, but whatever. I'm not going to get into another one of these. I've said my bit elsewhere, so I don't need to say more.

I agree this discussion is on its last legs.

 

Tom....you have a good point, yes. But what I am saying is that we have had the official administration line on this. They wont be changing it anytime soon, no matter how much everyone here debates.

Continuing to argue about it wont make the administration suddenly sit up and take notice. The double standard has been pointed out time and time again. We are just going over old ground that has been ignored before, so I dont know why we need to continue it here. Thats all.

 

I'll ask again: Why was LMM made a mod when all other staff are VIP's?

 

I have faith that reasonable people are capable of making reasonable decisions and judgements. Let's see what comes of this, and hope for the best. The Administration has told us that they are debating it.

And this thread has completely jumped the shark, and it's doing nothing to advance the cause of decency and accountability.

I really don't think that was necessary. At least allow him to say his piece before you tare into him.

 

Wouldn't it make sense to keep this thread open until everything is fully resolved? Locked threads often give off the appearance of finality, and perception counts for a lot, particularly on an internet message board.

the problem with keeping it open is that it will degenerate into spam, and that will pretty much ruin any respectability the thread and the opposing side has.

it's better to close it than to keep it open and give any excuse for the powers that be to blow off the side that criticizes them.

What has he done to give us any reason to expect more than the spamming and insulting tone he has used so far? It was strongly suggested that he apologize, so he made a joke out of it to further inflame the situation. What has changed that will make this post any different?

 

I think he just likes the idea that we're all sitting here waiting for him.

 

Maybe he should have opened up the thread when he was ready to copy/paste what he had to say (un-doubtedly it'll probably be long judging by the time its taking)?

If the only reason he re-opened the thread was to spam or insult people, then I will be greatly surprised. Saddened, even.
