Senate Opinion of the following organizations

How do you feel about the following organizations:

- Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)
- Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA)
- Parents Music Resource Center
- Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids

 

I think this should be a poll. And one of the answers should be "waffles."

 

Do they serve food?

Neither strongly in favour or against.

 

MPAA? I don't think films should be rated.

 

I'm firmly against each and everyone one of those.

 

I have not heard of any of these except the MPAA and I am indifferent to the board.

 

I've only heard of the first two. I don't know enough about MADD to have an opinion but the MPAA is an arbitrary, backwards, and draconian organization that needs to die. Not saying film rating systems are bad generally, just the MPAA in particular.

 

Best thing about the PMRC is Zappa's testimony against them and the music censorship movement.

 

Aren't these all listed in "Anarchy in the UK"?

At PETA’s shelter, most animals are put down.

It’s not like you to be edgy.

 

Both of those examples are weak when it comes to the exploitation of agricultural animals which PETA is completely against. It is an important distinction. There are advocacy groups with similar views and more palatable tactics, but we can't just pick any animal rights organization out of a hat and pretend it's an acceptable alternative to people who sympathize with PETA's goals.

EDIT: And PETA's defense of their euthanasia practices appears sound based on my own knowledge-- that is, because there will always be some animals who are impossible to adopt out (severe health or behavioral issues) some "no kill" shelters will offload unwanted animals on other facilities and the root of the problem is the staggering volume of unwanted animals.
