As someone living outside of London, I'd just like to echo the thoughts of sympathy and well-wish to you city-folk, as imparted from our friends overseas.

I am relieved to see a few London JCers checking in and informing us they are ok. I'm also glad to hear your cousin is alright, DA6. I myself was worried about my brother-in-law who commutes into London by train each day, but I've just spoken to my Dad, and he tells me that he's fine, and back home safely.

I also have a couple of friends living and working in the City, but thankfully they are fine too.

Finally, as an Englander, outside of London but an occasional visitor to this board, I'd like to thank our JC friends from abroad for their kind wishes. Thank you all, it means a lot. Not just to Londoners, but to this nation as a whole, because I would guess that it's quite possible that some of those injured or even killed may well have been commuters(possibly), and even if they none of them are, they no doubt have families and friends elsewhere who will be sadly affected.

It is a sad day for the whole nation, but to those of you writing in here from abroad, may I offer thanks on behalf of us all.

Dude, you have nothing to be sorry for. Good to hear your cousin is cool. I am just waiting to hear from my friend to see if she got home ok.

Well my thoughts have been with London all day, it is surreal to think that yesterday I was watching scenes of celebration on TV, and when I wake up today I am greeted by horrible scenes. DA6, you have no need to apologise about your post at all, worrying about realitives is natural in the situation and I am so glad for you to hear back from your cousin.

I would also like to add a big cheer for the emergency services, from what I have heard from the media the training more then paid off and looked to have handled a crisis excellently, espically when the police have been depleated with some going to G8. Our hats off to them all.

You Brits have my condolences and my deepest sympathies. Y'all stood hand in hand with us on September 11, now it is our turn to do the same. You are our family, our brothers and sisters. As bad as this is it could have been worse, and we must thank God it wasn't. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
