I was wondering if anyone was going to make this. I found a REALLY great picture this morning.

    I *might* make it. Eventually.

That is an absolutely beautiful costume! I think it was p-19 that had a good shot of the nightgown on it. I could be wrong, but whatever video clip it was(I'll be looking for it tonight) it was really good.

Some really nice shots! It's gorgeous, I really want to do that one someday. I'm confused because the hair looks to be the same as it is on the Tatooine blue dress ... does this mean I'm doing the wrong hair?

huh? She's on Naboo in those nightgown shots. ?[face_plain]
Why can't she just wear her hair the same way twice?

To torture us. ;) Some of the hairstyles are rather similar this time-the picnic dress and the white tatooine hairstyles do look an awful lot alike.

Might be some minor spoilers here, so scroll down....

After the nightgown, I believe her next outfit is the white Tatooine gown with the blue cloak. She travels to Tatooine in this outfit and then changes to the Blue Gown with the same hairdo. So it's possible she just doesn't straighten her hair out till she gets to the white Battle Outfit (which comes after the Blue Gown).

Yes, but you're not a Senator of the Galactica Republica and you're not trying to impress one Anakin Skywalker.

    ****SPOILER ALERT*****

The costume order, according to the graphic novel:
    1. Pilot costume
    2. Purple Senate costume
    3. Plain nightgown(during assasination attempt)
    4. silver dress
    5. Gold Travel dress
    6. Rainbow Gown
    7. Picnic dress
    8. black corset
    9. White nightgown/purple robe
    10. White Tatooine
    11. Blue Tatooine[/li]
    12. Battle Costume
    13. Wedding dress

I think the silver headband/turtleneck outfit is in the scenes with Padme's family,(possibly cut out of the movie) in which case it would be between costumes #5 and #6.

    AH! Page 6!!! UP!!!!!!!

I read on the Padawan's Guide that Trisha Biggars brought this costume to C II. She said that the robe was made of hand-flocked fabric.

Forgive my inexperience, but what is "Hand-flocked?"

    Also, is anyone making this?

I was at Trisha's presentation. The dressing gown was there and it is gorgeous in real life. It's made from at least 30 yards of hand-smocked fabric. Sort of like ruching. She said it was very heavy, and considering the ammount of fabric it's made from, I can see why.

Ahhh but thats not the only nightgown! There is another! The nightgown we see in the trailer with Padme sleeping is a different nightgown then this one with the robe!

I read the book... so... :)

hey there making this ensemble is like #4 on my list of things to sew before I die which numbers like 748,632,412,800,197-so maybe I'll get to it. I have a question to some of you seamstresses. I, too heard that Trisha Biggar said the "robe" was hand smocked. I do english smocking by hand that is worked on pleats that are created with threads with embroidery floss. It is time consuming and takes a bit of fabric(since you pleat it up a 45" wide piece becomes more like 12") After you smock it-you pull out the holding threads and the embroidery holds the fabric together in a pretty design-and the fabric becomes springy like elastic almost. Is this the same type of SMOCKING used on this garment? I am correct that the ROBE is smocked NOT the gown--right?!

Yes, it's the ROBE which is smocked. Trisha didn't go into any detail about it except to say that it was all hand done.
