Padme maroon battle robe

Hi
I am thinking about making padme 's maroon battle robe. I am not sure what fabric to use (it looks like velvet with a gold strip on sleeves)
I would like something fairly light weight but easy to work with!

Also i am not sure what the type of fabric her trousers are made from?? And also what footwear she wears

Hi and welcome. I suggest checking out Fit for a Queen for any Padme-related costume construction - they have some decent images, and in this case, her boots too.

As for the fabric, it does look like velvet, which is neither light nor easy to work with, but there's no alternatives for it that I know of (their is velour, which is cheaper, but is not much lighter or easier).
