I haven't done much more recently. I've been working on a different costume (well, actually several of the same costume) for other people and just haven't had the time to work on this yet . I did get a pattern for a farthingale and when I have time, I think I'm going to make it up so that I'm ready for the skirt.

Something I noticed about the skirt, in some of the versions others have made, it looks like they put some fullness in the back of the skirt. Why? Was that part of the original costume? I was thinking of just making an A-line skirt (really fully) possibly with 6 or so gores to get the full flare. Is there a reason for the fullness in the back of the skirt?
