Padme's lat name: Amidala or Nabarrie?

    If someone can clarify this for me. Where did Amidala come from?

    Amidala is a regnal name, meaning it is a name taken by Padme when she was elected Queen. Similair to how the Pope has a Papal name, and a birth name. Naberrie is her actual name, but she is referred to as Amidala due to her ties as Queen of Naboo.

    I looked this up recently, and yes, what the others said. Her last name is Naberrie; Amidala is the name she took as Queen.

    It's like referring to the first Roman emperor as Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus, instead of his birth name, Gaius Octavius Thurinus, or any number of kings who use a different name from their birth name throughout history. They take on these names upon ascension. Padme probably kept using Amidala because it was what people knew her as.
