And holy China was supressing info about the desease for over one month - a major issue given the current situation we ave now. Whistleblowers were silenced.
Further we are talking about a 1.3 bn people nations help compared to the limited capabilities of helping of 5-80 million nations in Europe who are suffering by themselves.

There have been reports that test kits, masks, and other supplies provided by China to various countries have been found to be defected or below standard.

 

Some of the rapid tests are a train wreck but apparently the company hawking them was never authorized. Protective equipment is a mixed bag - the Netherlands got a lot of bad filters, the Czech government said the ones they got were fine. In general I think the big takeaway here is don't set up a supply chain that relies on exactly one country to provide medical equipment Jesus Christ.

The reason China and Cuba are on the list is cause its not an expansive list, and is specifically about socialist governments. Also China doing decently is not affected by Xi. He sucks, but that doesn't change that the infrastructure for combating this stuff is better there. It can be good in Taiwan, and also good in China. The distinction is in how "the west" and liberalism are handling it vs communist nations. Taiwan is honestly unique in a really wonderful way, or Singapore which has handled things differently and while super capitalist cannot be called liberal let alone western. This is about how EUROPE you know that thing that was being contrasted with communist countries is dealing with this.

one way or another CUBA is handling this better than anyone. And fine don't accept Chinese help then if you cannot bear the idea of assistance for the Chinese. Only accept help from Taiwan then, that'll show Xi you say as you cough your last breath in a hospital stripped down through austerity. Truly you are enlightened.

Cuba is handling this better than anyone, that is significant and let's stop letting sinophobia and redbaiting get in the way of confronting the fact that our sanctions on them are disgusting, and we can learn something from them.
