ST Peter Mayhew and Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca) in the ST

Yes I am making yet another poll, friends. EHT approved, caught him in a weak moment.

For I think the first time, Peter Mayhew was consultant only, and Joonas Suotamo was Chewie full-time.



Which was your favorite moment with Chewie from The Last Jedi

 

Chewie about to eat the roosted Porg and then sees all the Porgs crying at what he did. I always find it amusing given Chewie always follow his stomach.

 

Loved the roast Porg moment, probably got the biggest laugh from the crowd every time I've seen it.

I voted for the scene where the Porgs have taken over the ship and the one Porg is pulling out cables.

 

Nice idea. My favourite moment was him flying the Falcon so wonderfully magestic but I chose from your options his interaction with Rey as she's about to leave. What's always fascinated me most about Chewbacca is wondering what he's actually saying and this is another great moment for that. I also liked this moment because it's another callback to TFA where Han says much the same thing in the Oscillator facility (funny how some fans say it disconnects so much from that film despite all the linking elements that are in place).

 

I thought it was cool how Chewie was flying the Falcon very capably despite not having more than a Porg co-pilot.

 

I voted Chewie knocks down the door of Luke's hut and yells at him. If Chewie has taken a big, old bite of Porg in front of the Porgs, I might have gone with that.

 

I'm glad we have another actor that does well in the suit, after Peter.

 

I loved that they gave credit for Peter Mayhew in the movie as a consultant.

"If you see Finn before I do, tell him.." "Gwarrrr" "Yeah. Perfect. Tell him that."

Where "Gwarrrr" means "I love you"?

 

This is actually harder for me to choose then I thought! Some great moments.

- Edit. I went for the genius of the camp fire scene. It’s brilliant because it works for people who found them too cute and was also cute for people who love them.

 

This was my first thought too, but if not, I really want to know what he said.

 

Eating the Porgs was the most memorable scene for Chewie, hands down.

The Porg not lunch is great but I had to go for the Porg-flick off the Falcon controls in the middle of a desperate firefight.

 

Chewie and Luke moment. As funny and great the other stuff is, that scene was powerful.

 

When Chewie yells, upset the Porgs are trashing the cockpit and ripping up the upholstery.

 

Best Chewie moment was flying through the crystals on Crait

 

Roasting Porg by far!

 

it’s funny and makes you feel bad at the same time!

 

I didn’t really think of that until now. That’s some Han-like flying. He learned from one of the best. Love that mine sequence in IMAX.

 

He should be unbelievably terrifying in this scene but Luke's so used to it he barely flinches. "Chewie! The Falcon? Where's Han?"

The roast Porg scene was hilarious.

But knocking down the door, flying through the crystal caverns, and the make up hug with Leia are all worthy of note.

The biggest issue with Chewie in TFJ was the loss of Han. With the Big 3 on their way out, it's sad seeing their sidekicks left largely purposeless behind.

 

It’s classic Star Wars, especially with the music.

 

Thought the Porg eating moment would be #1 for sure.
